Inset Announces OOgler 1.0 for Windows
The Universal Picture Viewer

Brookfield, CT (April 1, 1994) Inset, publishers of the HiJaak family of
award-winning graphics tools, is proud to announce OOgler 1.0 for Windows,
the Universal Picture Viewer.

OOgler provides simple, low-cost access to images from countless software
packages. Its list of supported formats includes the most popular formats
for MS-DOS, MS-Windows, and OS/2 PC users, as well as formats commonly
found in Macintosh, Amiga, and Sun environments. Inset Systems has
designed OOgler with the novice Windows graphics user in mind. Its
easy-to-understand interface and versatility make it the perfect tool for
getting acquainted with the abundance of computer images that confronts
Windows users.

"OOgler is targeted for the SOHO (small office/home office) market and will
be useful to all Windows users, whether they are novices or experts,"
explains Product Team Leader Kim McMillen. "We wanted to create a low-cost
product that would be fast, fun, and simple to use and that would offer
the same outstanding quality for which Inset products are known. With
OOgler, Windows users will be able to view standard graphic file formats -
from the common BMP, GIF, TIF, and TGA to the highly compressed JPG to the
complex vector DXF, CGM, or WMF."

OOgler's list of supported formats follows.

Vector and metafile: CGM, CLP, DRW, DXF, GEM, P10, PCT, PGL, PIC, WMF, WPG.

Raster: ATT, BMP, CLP, CMP, CUT, DIB, GIF, ICO, IFF, IMG, JPG, KFX, MAC,
MSP, PCD, PCT, PCX, PIC(SBP), RAS(SUN), RLE, TGA, TIF, WPG.

Image viewing may be accomplished through the use of OOgler's menu
interface or its graphical button bar. Images may also be accessed by
double-clicking an image filename in Windows File Manager or by dragging
an image filename from File Manager and dropping it onto the OOgler icon.
Once the image has been opened in OOgler, powerful zooming tools allow
close-up viewing, particularly important to those who work with
highly-detailed plans and engineering drawings in vector formats. Because
OOgler does not allow image editing, viewed images can never be
accidentally harmed.

"Flexibility is OOgler's greatest asset," says Maurice Harnoy, Inset's V.P.
of Communications. "Image files that would choke other viewers, due to too
much detail or a non-standard approach to the image format, will typically
present no problem for OOgler. The support for so many important vector
and metafile formats also sets OOgler apart from the rest of the field."

OOgler requires Microsoft Windows 3. l, DOS 3.0 or later, and 3Mb of hard
disk space. At least 2Mb RAM is needed. (4Mb recommended)

Inset products are sold worldwide through a network of distributors,
retailers, and value-added resellers. OOgler may also be purchased
directly from Inset at 800-828-0068. The list price of OOgler is $37.50,
but it may be found at considerable savings on some software store
shelves.
