INTEC TO SHOW NEW OS/2-BASED SOFTWARE AT AUTOMATION SHOW

Paragon TNT Brings Client-Server Computing to the Plant Floor

Philadelphia, PA -- (May, 1994) -- Intec Controls Corporation will be
demonstrating a brand new family of automation software products at the
ISA '94 Trade Show, held in Philadelphia, May 3 - 5. Heralded as the most
significant product announcement in the company's history, the new Paragon
TNT (The New Technology) family of software products serves a wide
spectrum of industrial process monitoring and control applications -- from
operator GUI's to complex plant-wide SCADA systems.

Commenting on the company's OS/2 plans, Intec's President Thomas Kraus
states, "Intec has always focused on industrial applications where
real-time, multitasking operation is critical--OS/2 provides the ideal
foundation for these types of applications." Robert Mick, the company's
Vice President of Engineering adds, "Our decision to develop on OS/2 is
driven by the need for an operating system which provides the services
necessary for extremely resource-intensive applications. OS/2's advanced
memory management, multi-threading, and GUI features allow our customers
to easily expand the complexity of their Paragon application, and provide
a clear means of integrating existing applications with new products."

The Paragon TNT family is comprised of a number of separate Client and
Server Subsystems. Subsystems are purchased individually, and grouped
together to meet the needs of a particular application. For example, for a
basic man-machine-interlace (MMI) applications, TNT's Operator Interlace
Client System would be combined with TNT's I/O Communications Server
Subsystem. For an application requiring an element of supervisory control,
TNT's Continuous Strategy Server would be added to the basic MMI
configuration.

Paragon TNT fulfills Intec's ease-of-use philosophy with a graphical
configuration environment and an object-oriented display builder. The
windowing operator interface supports both object-based and bitmapped
graphics, and can be integrated with third-party multi-media tools. Other
unique features include on-line configuration changes, quality tagged
process variables, and double byte language support.
