PROXIM ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT WITH ZENITH DATA SYSTEMS TO CO-DEVELOP NEW
WIRELESS MOBILE COMPUTING PRODUCTS

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif, May 16, 1994 -- Proxim, Inc. today announced a
codevelopment relationship with Zenith Data Systems (ZDS) in which the two
companies will jointly develop a wide range of ZDS wireless mobile
computing products for domestic and international markets.

Proxim and ZDS are currently developing customized versions of long-range,
high-performance wireless LAN offerings that will be seamlessly integrated
into future ZDS mobile computing products. Proxim engineers in Mountain
View are working closely with ZDS engineering teams in Buffalo Grove,
Ill., and Santa Clara, Calif., on this program.

"Our alliance with ZDS reflects the growing global market requirement for
innovative mobile computing and communications systems that meet real user
needs," said David King, president and CEO of Proxim. "Proxim is pleased
to form this strategic alliance with ZDS, a recognized market leader in
both mobile computing platforms and connectivity solutions for corporate
LAN users."

"After evaluating all wireless LAN solutions available, ZDS chose Proxim
because of its proven track record and leadership in the wireless LAN
industry, including the standards arena," said Alan Soucy, vice president
of Mobile Systems for ZDS. "The most important factors in our selection of
Proxim were the performance advantage of the RangeLAN2 architecture and
Proxim's clear lead over its competitors in technology implementation."

Proxim's RangeLAN2 family of high performance wireless products are
designed for the corporate LAN market. Based on frequency hopping spectrum
technology in the 2.4-2.4835 GHz band, RangeLAN2 offers the longest range
and highest throughput of any wireless LAN product in its class. RangeLAN2
delivers an uncompressed data rate of 1.6 Mbps per channel across 15
independent channels, creating an aggregate network bandwidth of 24 Mbps.

Zenith Data Systems, a Bull Company, is a leading supplier of notebook and
desktop PCs, servers, monitors, and related peripherals. With headquarters
in Buffalo Grove, Ill., the company has engineering facilities in St.
Joseph, Mich., Santa Clara, Calif., and Billerica, Mass.; manufacturing
