Software Publishers Association Elects New Board of Directors
John Kernan, Phil Adam Named Chairman and President

May 26, 1994 (Washington, DC)--The Software Publishers Association (SPA)
announced today the results of the 1994 election of officers and Board of
Directors.

The SPA board members, elected for 2 year terms, include:

* Ronald Fortune, president and CEO, Computer Curriculum Corp.
* Bill Goodhew, president, Peachtree Software
* Paul Grayson, founder and chairman, Micrografx, Inc.
* Kathleen Hurley, vice president, Skills Bank Corp
* Dale LaFrenz, president and CEO, MECC
* Kirk Loevner, vice president and general manager,
  Silicon Graphics, Inc.

Pete Higgins, senior vice president, Desktop Applications Division,
Microsoft Corporation, and John Laing, executive vice president, Worldwide
Sales, Symantec Corporation, were appointed to 1 year terms on the board.

Returning board members include: Phil Adam, vice president, Interplay
Productions; Jan Davidson, president, Davidson & Associates; Alan
Gleicher, vice president, Intuit; Gordon Jones, vice president,
Information Services, Novell, Inc; John Kernan, chairman and CEO, The
Lightspan Partnership, Inc.; Michael Skok, Chairman and CEO, European
Software Publishing; and Ken Wasch, SPA's executive director.

At its first meeting on May 16, 1994, the directors elected the board
officers, who are: John Kernan, chairman of the board; Phil Adam,
president; Bill Goodhew, treasurer; and Alan Gleicher, secretary.

"The SPA is lucky to have many new faces on the Board of Directors," said
SPA executive director Ken Wasch. "Judging from our first board meeting,
the freshman class of the SPA Board is a creative and enthusiastic lot
that will serve the industry well over the next two years."

The Software Publishers Association, with offices in Washington, DC, and
Paris, is the principal trade group of the PC software industry. Its more
than 1,100 members represent the leading publishers in the business,
consumer and education software markets.
