Logitech Breaks New Ground in Trackball Versatility with TrackMan Voyager

Voyager Converts Easily to a Portable, Desktop or Hand-held Trackball

Fremont, Calif. -- April 25, 1994: Logitech, Inc., international leader in
pointing, imaging and sound products, announced today TrackMan Voyager, a
highly versatile trackball for portables that converts easily. into a
desktop stationary unit or a hand-held presentation device. Available in
mid-May at a suggested retail price of $89.95, TrackMan Voyager breaks new
ground in allowing PC users to adapt to every computing situation.

TrackMan Voyager is for customers who do not have a pointing device
included with their laptop, as well as for those who have an integrated
device but find it uncomfortable for long work sessions. Voyager's small
form factor and integrated protective cover make it easy to carry with
you, while its ergonomic design makes it comfortable for the hand over
long periods. It can be used in five different positions: in front of the
keyboard; to either side (right or left); standing on the desktop as a
trackball with a mouse-like look and feel; as a desktop trackball that is
thumb-operated; and as a hand-held device ideal for presentations. The
ingenious case design makes all these positions possible.

"Portable users have different personal preferences and use their computers
in many different settings and situations," says Antti Aumo, Logitech
product manager. "We designed TrackMan Voyager to be 'right' no matter how
you need to use it. It's completely versatile for left or right-handed
customers and it moves easily from one work location to another."

To make set-up and use easier and faster, TrackMan Voyager can be used
without an attaching device securing it to the system. "Portables are used
on a tabletop about 80 percent of the time, and yet most portable
trackballs must be attached to work properly," says Aumo. "TrackMan
Voyager stays firmly in place without being attached and that's
significantly more convenient for our users. " For those situations in
which an attachment device is required, TrackMan Voyager provides an
improved, spring-operated clip that adapts easily to different portables.
While traveling, the clip can remain attached to the laptop or the
trackball offering yet another quick and easy configuration.

TrackMan Voyager comes with Logitech's Enhanced MouseWare software version
6.4 which has been optimized for use with this product. The new version of
the software allows portable trackball users to easily adjust the cursor
speed and directional orientation of the trackball and to set Voyager's
three buttons to individualized functions like cut and paste. Common
commands such as double-click can be assigned to one button to increase
efficiency and reduce repetitive motions. The product also comes with a 6-
to 9- pin serial port adapter, and is backed by Logitech's three-year
guarantee. Also just introduced in Europe, TrackMan Voyager has already
won an IF International Forum Design award at this year's Cebit exhibition
in Hanover, Germany.

In anticipation of TrackMan Voyager, Logitech has decreased the price of
its highly successful TrackMan Portable product to $69.95, providing a
low-cost alternative for users who want a comfortable, flexible device on
the road. A leader in pointing device technology, Logitech has shipped
more than 40 million input devices worldwide.

Logitech designs, manufactures and markets "Senseware" -- products intended
to give human-like senses such as sight, sound and touch to the computer,
making human-to-computer communications more intuitive and natural.
Logitech International, the financial holding company for the Logitech
Group, is traded publicly in Switzerland on the Geneva and Zurich
exchanges. With operational headquarters in Fremont, Calif., the group
maintains manufacturing facilities in California, Taiwan, Ireland, China
and Malaysia, and offices in major cities in North America, Europe and the
Far East.
