THE AEGIS SYSTEM PROVIDES THE SOFTWARE INDUSTRY'S HIGHEST LEVEL OF
PROTECTION WITHOUT PROGRAMMING

SAN JOSE, CA, March 15, 1994 -- Software Security, Inc. is exhibiting its
easy-to-use AEGIS system for software protection in Booth 1245 at Software
Development '94. This anti-piracy system provides the highest level of
security possible in the PC environment.

Using state-of-the-art encryption techniques, the AEGIS system encompasses
a developer's software executable code to create an encrypted version of
the application. This new version is linked to a special programmable
hardware device that connects to the computer's parallel port. Protected
software will not execute unless the device is present on the computer.

In addition to protecting the application from piracy, AEGIS also provides
data security and detects any change in the program, including a virus. It
automatically encrypts data files that are part of the application such as
CAD part libraries, picture images, and databases.

"We feel that the security provided by AEGIS is the strongest available
anywhere," says Neil Holzman, vice president, sales and marketing.
"Developed by skilled programmers and world class hackers who have
extensive experience in 'breaking' security schemes, AEGIS encloses the
software in a 'wrapper' that prohibits any modification to the protected
software."

He explains, " Not only does AEGIS supply the world's best software
protection, it also simplifies the process of adding security to a
software package. An author does not have to modify the program's code to
access the hardware device. Protection is implemented by merely running
AEGIS software. This brief procedure uniquely protects each program."

He continues, "Thus, developers and publishers can have the benefit of
extremely secure protection with minimal effort."
Unlike conventional hardware-based software protection devices which use
security schemes that incorporate interrogation routines into the
application, AEGIS does not require reprogramming. Even non-technical
staff can implement protection by following a few simple prompts.

The basic AEGIS system protects DOS applications; AEGlS/Wins, Windows
applications. AEGIS/M contains memory that can be used to provide an
additional level of security. If desired, developers can use Software
Security's highly acclaimed ToolBox to program the memory in AEGIS/M.
AEGIS adds only minimal overhead to the executable file while adding
maximum security.

With the AEGIS system, as with all Software Security devices, the user can
make unlimited back-up copies of protected software. Performance of the
software and peripherals is unaffected.
All AEGIS products are currently available from Software Security, Inc. In
quantities of 100, AEGIS is $29; AEGIS/M is $37. Demos are available for
$25.
