Problem tracking and change management leader adds security, workflow
features, eases customization of graphical forms and reports

tracking systems, today announced that it has begun shipping Version 2.0a
of its award-winning Defect Control System (DCS) for Windows.

providing extensive security features and options. In addition, we have

Leavitt says that Version 2.0a further supports these benefits by enhancing
its security, customization and reporting capabilities with the following
features:

* User Group Security protects project data and mirrors a team's workflow
by providing extensive control over who can see and modify each field.
Administrators can now limit specific entry and update actions to relevant
personnel in their organizations.

* The new Style Sheet Designer personalizes the problem browzer's display
and produces presentation quality reports at the touch of a button.

* Customizing the graphical Submit and Update forms is simplified with new
dedicated dialogues.

* Free text searching across record titles, descriptions and attached notes
has been added. Now users can find all records containing specific key
words or phrases.

* DCS now supports the concept of problem state. Typical examples of
problem state might include New, Assigned, Fixed, Verified and Rejected.
Managers can now generate reports that identify bottlenecks in the
correction process.

* A new tool bar provides quick access to the most used features, and an
improved status bar delivers current information on the active window.

* The new manual set separates information into a User's Guide and an
Administrator's Guide. These also deliver more conceptual information on
automating problem tracking and change management and how to best glean
practical decision metrics from a defect database.

DCS Version 2.0a is available for immediate shipment. Single licenses are
available for $495 with volume discounts available.
