About the Authors ...

Tom Madell is a learning products engineer at Hewlett-Packard. For the last
six years, he has documented operating systems, languages, and
applications. He is an accomplished technical writer for HP. He has
published a number of articles in national scientific and professional
journals. He holds a masters degree in psychology from the University of
Michigan and a doctorate in education from the University of Illinois,
Urbana-Champaign.

Clark Parsons is a learning products engineer at Hewlett-Packard. He has
been with Hewlett-Packard for twenty years. For the past six years, he has
been involved in the design of documentation and computer-based tutorials.
He holds a masters degree in educational technology from the University of
Northern Colorado and is continuing doctoral work in the same field.

John Abegg is a learning products manager at Hewlett-Packard. He is an
accomplished technical writer, having written over a dozen operating,
programming and user guides. He has been with Hewlett-Packard for twenty
years. For the past five years, he has managed a group of learning
products engineers.
