TERRALOGICS' TERRAVIEW GOES INTO SPACE

Advanced Integrated Mapping Supports NASA Space Shuttle

LOWELL, MA, January 24, 1994 -- TerraLogics, Inc., announces that Rockwell
Space Operations Company will use TerraView to provide detailed,
geographic displays of the Earth during an upcoming NASA space shuttle
mission devoted to studying the Earth. TerraView is a software development
kit from TerraLogics that supports geographic data visualization in a
variety of applications. Rockwell's use of TerraView significantly reduced
the time to develop the mapping application, making it possible for the
development team to meet the schedule for the shuttle launch in April.

"The TerraView toolkit cut the lines of code we had to write by 50
percent," says Robert Tucker, Rockwell's leader of the Shuttle Portable
Computer Team. "TerraView also provides the crew with more meaningful map
information than in previous systems. The detailed geographic maps that
TerraView provides are critical for the shuttle crew's acquisition of
informed, specific earth imagery."

According to Robert Larnkin, TerraLogics' vice President of Sales and
Marketing, "Rockwell's use of TerraView demonstrates the exciting range of
applications that embedded mapping technology is being used for -- from
space stations to executive information systems. The enormous potential of
embedded mapping is taking off."

The Windows-based application, titled WinSPoC (Windows Shuttle Portable
Onboard Computer), will first be used aboard Shuttle flight STS-S9. The
objective of the flight is to gather data on the earth's vegetation,
deforestation, topographic, oceananic and volcanic activities so
researchers can learn about the earth's environmental changes.

WinSPoC with TerraView will provide continuous, detailed maps of the earth
so the crew knows where they are in relation to the earth and when to
begin and end photographic studies. The studies will be performed by a
radar system that penetrates the surface of the earth and large bodies of
water to detect objects and movements. Without the precise timing of the
studies, research results could be inconsistent with other research data
gathered on the flight. The WinSPoC application will run on a 486 laptop
with a super VGA color monitor. If WinSPoC performs to expectations, it
will be a standard tool on future shuttle operations.

The TerraView software development kit, first introduced in 1990, includes
a C-language subroutine library and a variety of optional modules and
utilities. TerraView allows map users to access data from popular database
managers, as well as the Defense Mapping Agency's Digital Chart of the
World and the Census Bureau's street maps. TerraView maps can be
integrated with most market-leading Windows development environments.

TerraLogics Inc., headquartered in Lowell, Mass., is the leading provider
of embedded map technology, along with related data and services.
TerraView, the company's flagship product, is sold throughout the world to
software publishers and developers, system integrators and VARs, and
federal government agencies. The company was founded in 1988.
