Jury Finds in Favor of Apple and IBM in Urbanski Matter; Finds No Liability
or Duty to Warn in RSI Case

CUPERTINO, California--March 8, 1995--A jury in Minnesota State District
Court, in Hastings, Minn., today found in favor of Apple Computer, Inc.
and IBM Corp. in the Urbanski trial. The case involved alleged Repetitive
Stress Injuries (RSI) as a result of use of various computer products.

The jury found that neither Apple or IBM failed to use reasonable care in
the design of their keyboards used by the plaintiff, Nancy Urbanski, and
that neither company had a duty to warn or instruct for the safe use of
the keyboards. As a result of the jury's finding of no liability on any of
Urbanski's claims, no damages were awarded.

Although discovery errors by Apple's outside counsel led Apple to settle
the Urbanski matter in February, the jury was instructed to make factual
determinations as to both IBM and Apple.

"We are pleased with the verdict. The jury clearly understood the inability
of scientific evidence to support claims that our products cause injury or
are in any way defective," said Edward B. Stead, Apple's General Counsel.
"Along with a Texas jury's earlier ruling on Compaq's behalf, this
represents the second time a jury trial has concluded in an RSI case with
a finding of no liability and no duty to warn. This reaffirms Apple's
decision to vigorously defend all claims related to RSI."
