Apple to Sponsor International Forum on Women in China

New York-March 13, 1995-The Apple Pacific division of Apple Computer, Inc.,
today announced that it will be a primary technology sponsor for the NGO
Forum on Women, the parallel non-government forum to the United Nations
(UN) Fourth World Conference on Women. The Forum will be held in Beijing,
China from August 30 through September 8, 1995.

The NGO (Non Government Organization) Forum on Women and the UN Conference
on Women share a common goal and present a unique opportunity for the
international community to cooperate and establish a strategy of action to
improve conditions for women in all aspects of social, economic, cultural
and political life.

The NGO Forum will be held at the Beijing Workers Sports Service Centre and
is expected to attract over 25,000 delegates from 184 countries, making it
one of the largest international events ever hosted by the Chinese
government.

"We're very pleased that the NGO Forum has chosen Apple as a strategic
partner in this historic event", said Robin Abrams, Vice President and
General Manager, Apple Asia. "Our technology, especially in the area of
multi-lingual computing, offers us a unique platform to meet the needs of
the conference organizers and attendees. We hope that they will discover
how Apple technology can enhance the way they work, communicate and learn
around the world," she added.

As a primary technology sponsor, Apple will provide hardware and software
to the NGO Forum Secretariat for use in preparation, as well as during the
Forum in Beijing. The NGO Forum will be operating in English, French,
Spanish, Arabic and Chinese. Apple's operating system, the Mac OS, is
perfectly suited to accommodate this requirement. With Apple's WorldScript
technology, which resides in the Mac OS and enables multi-lingual
computing, conference organizers and attendees will be able to work in
Chinese, Russian, French, Arabic, Spanish, as well as English.

In addition, Apple is assisting with the development of a computer
infrastructure; providing training; as well as on-site technical support
for a host of activities during the 10-day Forum. These activities include
a Business Centre, the publishing of a Daily Forum Newsletter, a training
center, and a Multi-lingual Word Processing Center.

Apple's technologies will also be used throughout the coming weeks as the
final Preparatory Meetings for the NGO Forum in Beijing and the United
Nations Fourth World Conference on Women are held at UN Headquarters in
New York City.
