Compaq Selects Traveling Software's LapLink for Windows to Streamline
Customer Support via Remote Control Functionality

Compaq Anticipates 50 Percent Reduction in Technical Support Call Time

BOTHELL, Wash., March 27, 1995 - Traveling Software Inc. today announced
that Compaq Computer Corp. has selected a host-mode version of LapLink for
Windows to bundle with upcoming consumer desktop computers. Initial
studies conducted by Compaq show as much as a 50 percent reduction in
technical support call time thereby increasing customer satisfaction.

Compaq will use the remote control capabilities of LapLink to inaugurate a
new customer support program allowing Compaq's technical support staff to
remotely take control of a customer's computer for the efficient diagnosis
and resolution of problems. Compaq expects to begin bundling this software
with consumer desktop computers in the second quarter of 1995.

Traveling Software and Compaq have joined forces to implement an
alternative method for providing top-quality technical support to
customers. LapLink for Windows integrates industry-leading file transfer
and remote control, and Compaq will utilize this combination to provide
quick and easy solutions for its customers.

With LapLink for Windows, Compaq support technicians will be able to
analyze and remedy problems on the customer's computers as if they were at
the customers' site. In addition, LapLink for Windows' patent-pending
SpeedSync file transfer technology will significantly reduce the time to
update system software via modem.

"Remotely operating a customer's PC will enable our support technicians to
provide our customers with the best service and support program in the
industry," said Gus Kolias, Vice President, Compaq Customer Service and
Training. "Our initial studies with LapLink for Windows, indicate that we
can reduce technical support call time by at least 50 percent. We will be
able to troubleshoot problems more easily and effectively which will
result in satisfying additional customers more quickly."

"Today's customer is more interested in solutions than technology and has
greater support needs and expectations, particularly when setting up new
systems," said Robert Schram, Vice President of Strategic Development at
Traveling Software. "LapLink for Windows is a reliable, cost-effective
solution for the corporate help desk, as well as for manufacturers such as
Compaq."

LapLink for Windows' remote control capabilities allow technical support
engineers to remotely run, view and manage a PC running either DOS or
Windows. In addition, LapLink for Windows incorporates a chat feature that
provides easy, real-time communications between the customer and support
technician.

Compaq customers may obtain full file transfer and remote control
functionality by ordering LapLink for Windows through Compaq Direct Plus.
It is also sold separately at resellers nationwide for a suggested retail
price of $199.95.
