NEW DIGI ACCELEPORT PRODUCTS PROVIDE CLIENT SOLUTIONS

High-Speed Serial Ports Maximize Speed and Accuracy of Remote LAN
Connections

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., March 28, 1995 -- Digi International Inc. today
announced the AccelePort C1 and C2 high-speed serial ports for client
computers. These new products extend Digi's line of AccelePort high-speed
remote access products to cover a complete range, from a single client
communications port up to 224 server communications ports.

The AccelePort C1 and C2 allow remote computer users to take advantage of
the full communications speeds of today's 14.4 and 28.8 modems by
supporting remote communications speeds of up to 115 Kbps in standard mode
and up to 460 Kbps in enhanced mode. In addition, both models offer
built-in flow control to ensure accurate communications so there are no
delays caused by retransmitting of faulty data.

"These products address an all-too-common problem," said H. A. 'Ham'
Mathews, Digi director of business group management. "A standard PC serial
port typically supports a maximum of 19.2 Kbps with flow control, or as
little as 2.4 Kbps without flow control. A 28.8 modem, achieving speeds of
up to 115 Kbps with compression, quickly overruns the PC's serial port.
Our AccelePort C1 and C2 high-speed ports with built-in flow control make
certain that computer users get the maximum speed from their modems."

Mathews noted that users can now design a complete high-performance remote
communications system consisting of an AccelePort server solution for the
central site and an AccelePort client solution for the remote site.

The AccelePort C1, with a U.S. list price of $89, includes one high-speed
serial port. The AccelePort C2, with a U.S. list price of $129, includes
two high-speed serial ports. Both products will be available March 31,
1995 through Digi's worldwide network of distributors.
