Mastercam Helps Eliminate Dry Runs and Test Cutting with Solids-Based
Toolpath Verification

TOLLAND, CT, 1 March, 1995--CNC Software, Inc. has added solids-based
toolpath verification to its Mastercam Mill Version 5 CAD/CAM software.
Mastercam users can now design and program their parts, then view a
detailed solid model of the finished piece just as it will come off the
machine, scallops and all.

Mastercam's new verification utility uses the toolpath generated for any
part--from simple 2-D contours to complex multi-surface models--to create
a solid model of the machined piece. The model can be rotated, panned and
zoomed to inspect small or hidden features. The utility is included with
Mastercam Mill levels 1, 2 and 3 at no extra charge.

"Solids-based verification is becoming increasingly important in the
industry," says Mark Summers, vice president of CNC Software, Inc. "lt
saves time and money on virtually any part by helping to eliminate dry
runs and test cutting."

This utility, called N-SEE, has been included through a special agreement
with Microcompatibles, Inc., of Townsend, DE. Microcompatibles specializes
in PC-based solid-model verification software.

"N-SEE is the result of a unique breakthrough in solid-modeling technology
that delivers a realtime model solution for program verification," says
Don Esterling, president of Microcompatibles Inc. "It processes NC
information almost 100 times faster than many other NC verification
systems, giving Mastercam users an extremely efficient tool."

"With most CAD/CAM systems, the customer is forced to purchase a separate
product to have solids-based verification," says Summers. "Now it's
available as a standard utility with Mastercam Mill Version 5."

Known for its power and simplicity, Mastercam is Windows and Windows
NT-based CAD/CAM software for 2- through 5-axis milling, turning, 2- and
4-axis wire EDM, moldbase development, 3D design and drafting, and more.

Mastercam also provides a C-language interface for easy third-party
customization; built-in bidirectional translators including IGES, VDA,
DXF, CADL, STL and more. Over 500 custom and user-definable post
processors are also available.

CNC Software, Inc. is a privately owned corporation founded in 1984. With
