NEC AMERICA, INC. INTRODUCES TWO NEW AFFORDABLE LASER PLAIN PAPER FACSIMILE
UNITS

THE NEFAX 515 BUSINESS CLASS "BASIC" UNIT AND THE NEFAX 545 BUSINESS CLASS
"FULL FEATURED" UNIT WITH PC CONNECTIVITY

Irving, Texas (February 1, 1995) -- NEC America, Inc., a leading
manufacturer of "Business Class" facsimile machines announces the addition
of the NEFAX 515 and NEFAX 545 to its already impressive line of plain
paper facsimile units.

The NEFAX 515 is a "basic", plain paper facsimile, reasonably priced,
offering a range of features to meet most business fax needs. The NEFAX
515 has a quick 12-second per page transmission speed and has built-in
memory of seven pages. Up to 127 pages of expandable memory allows
automatic out-of-paper memory reception.

The user friendly NEFAX 515 was compactly designed to optimize space
limitations. The built-in power conservation mode will activate
automatically when the machine is not in use to help conserve engery.

The NEFAX 545 features a fast, six-second transmission speed and standard
60-page memory that can be expanded to 180 pages. The super dual access
and three-second quick scan eliminates long waits at the fax machine. With
dual access, documents may be scanned into memory while they are being
sent from memory, received into memory, or received on paper. While using
the NEFAX 545 as a convenience copier, documents may be sent from or
received into memory.

The more powerful, NEFAX 545 is a "full featured" plain paper facsimile
that can be configured with an optional RS232C serial interface allowing
the users to send and receive fax transmissions directly from their PCs.
This interface also enables the NEFAX 545 to become a 8 PPM laser printer
and PC scanner. Other exceptional features included on the NEFAX 545 are:
30-page automatic document feeder, auto reduction, batch transmission,
serial and relay broadcasting, 64 level gray scale, dial confirmation
mode, directory search, energy saver mode, and chain dialing.
