O'REILLY MAKES "HTML OVERVIEW" AVAILABLE FOR FREE ON NEWLY DESIGNED WEB
SITE

March 16, 1995 -- SEBASTOPOL, CA--O'Reilly & Associates, Inc. has made
"HTML Overview," an excerpt from its best-selling new book Managing
Internet Information Services, by Liu, Peek, Jones, Buus and Nye (ISBN
1-56592-062-7; 630 pp; $29.95) available for free on its newly redesigned
World Wide Web site (http://www.ora.com/). This 16 bookpage article
discusses document structure, HTML tag syntax, creating hyperlinks, and
dealing with graphics. It provides all the basic information needed to
create an HTML document.

This excerpt is part of O'Reilly's launch of a complete redesign of its WWW
site, which was named "Best Commercial Site" by Best of the Web '94. The
new Web home page features an image from The heyday of radio which
visitors can click on to access information about the Internet, Business &
Travel, Using UNIX & X, Sysadmin, and Programming. There are also five
"dials" that visitors can turn to enter O'Reilly's Online Bookstore, an
online version of its critically acclaimed magazine ora.com, news updates,
contact and ordering information, and "Outta Line," a special space where
O'Reilly's writers and designers display works in progress.

"We believe this redesign will better serve the many different people
interested in our information," said Brian Erwin, O'Reilly's director of
sales and marketing. "Our commitment to the Web is evidence of our belief
that it is not only a place to communicate with people and market our
products, but a center for active selling."

O'Reilly's ORA Resource Center can also be accessed through its Global
Network Navigator (GNN) an "information application" that makes it easy to
find information on the World Wide Web (use the following URL to register
for GNN: http://gnn.com/ or send email to info@gnn.com). GNN now offers
GNN Direct, a quick and secure method for browsing O'Reilly's and other
companies' products online and ordering through the Web.
