SoftArc Provides "Trade-Up To FirstClass" Program -- Offers Upgrade To
E-Mail Users Needing More Functionality

MARKAM, Ontario, March 14, 1995--SoftArc Inc., a leading developer and
manufacturer of enterprise-wide, cross-platform group communication
software, today announced a competitive upgrade offer for users of
competing e-mail and groupware systems. Sites trading in another
manufacturer's commercial product may now take advantage of substantial
discounts when purchasing FirstClass.

Upon the receipt of original diskettes from competing products,
organizations may purchase equivalent FirstClass regular user licenses at
50% off SoftArc's published prices. Without this discount, regular user
licenses price between $15 to $79 per user, based on volume. FirstClass
servers and system options, such as gateways or hardware, are sold
separately.

"E-mail was a good initial choice by many users to solve their workgroup
communication needs, but often these users run out of steam as they need
more and more workgroup functionality," said Karl Wong, principal analyst
of workgroup software at Dataquest. "SoftArc's FirstClass goes a long way
toward providing the right platform today and tomorrow. Users have a
robust platform to build upon as their workgroup computing needs continue
to grow."

"SoftArc's trade-up offer makes a lot more sense than investing a lot of
money to stick with CE Software's QuickMail," said Mark Anbinder of
longtime QuickMail integrator Baka Computers in Ithaca, New York. "The $12
per user upgrade price for QuickMail 3.0 is nearly impossible to justify.
While CE has focused on adding fancy widgets to their client software,
FirstClass offers greater functionality and real cross-platform access for
Mac and Windows users to' the
same mailboxes on the same server."

FirstClass is a powerful workgroup communication system that integrates
advanced e-mail with replicable discussion databases, remote access, forms
processing, enterprise database access and on-line information services.
The product offers a number of unique features and enhancements designed
to improve information communication and management. In terms of mail,
state-of-the-art features include directory synchronization, multihop
routing, message history, sensitivity and priority, attachments, automatic
addressing and personal mail lists. In terms of architecture, FirstClass
uses a fraction of the network bandwidth of other enterprise communication
solutions and offers simple, graphical administration locally or
remotely.

The trade-in offer applies to products including, but not limited to, CE
Software's QuickMail, Microsoft's MS Mail, Lotus' cc:Mail or Notes,
Novel's Groupwise, Da Vinci's EMail and Collabra's Share. To take
advantage of the offer, users should contact SoftArc or any SoftArc
Certified Consultant for details on how to submit proof of ownership.
