One-Step Ordering from CD-ROM Catalogs Now Possible With Link to Electronic
Purchasing

New EDI Connection Also Updates Prices, To Slash Costs, Reduce Errors, Save
Time

Wilton, CT, March 20, 1995 -- A consumer might like thumbing through a
4,000-page catalog, but in business there isn't that much time. Ordering
business products has now been reduced to the click of a button, with
CD-ROM catalogs and electronic purchasing.

As part of a joint marketing relationship, Automated Catalogue Services
L.P. and TSI International have developed the first standards-based
commercial-grade system to enable electronic viewing and purchasing of
business products.

ACS has developed a CD-ROM version of Baxter International's Source 2000
catalog, which lists 80,000 hospital supply items. Source 2000 is now
linked with TSI's OnCall*EDI purchasing system, bringing efficiency and
accuracy to what has been an error-prone process when performed manually.

In conjunction with OnCall*EDI, an automated procurement system now rolling
out to the U.S. market, hospitals can browse, view, and select products to
be ordered directly from a CD-ROM with the equivalent of 4,000 printed
pages. Orders are then transmitted to Baxter electronically from the same
Windows-based desktop system. In addition, current pricing information is
transmitted directly from Baxter to the OnCall*EDI database, and then
integrated with Source 2000.

"In all industries today, accuracy and timeliness of product information is
key for maximum sales," said Torrey Byles, Director, Electronic Commerce,
BIS Strategic Decisions, a market research company. "Electronic catalogs
are much faster and cost effective than paper, in getting new products in
front of buyers. Especially in technology-intensive industries, new
products are constantly coming out and product cycle times are getting
shorter and shorter."

Connie Galley, president of TSI International, said, "This relationship,
which stems from the successful combination of Source 2000 and OnCall*EDI,
signals a new era in business-to business electronic commerce. It is
logical and fortunate that it started in healthcare, an industry under
enormous pressure to reduce administrative costs."

"Pricing inaccuracy is a major contributor to administrative overhead in
any industry", added Steve Katz, president of ACS. "Based on this early
success, ACS and TSI are jointly pursuing other opportunities, and we
expect to announce support for additional industries later this year."

OnCall*EDI is an electronic procurement gateway for hospitals that removes
the complexities of conducting business electronically with suppliers. It
provides a rich set of easy-to-use facilities for sending and receiving
purchase orders, order acknowledgments, invoices, and price catalogs.
OnCall*EDI is designed to accommodate the EDI requirements of all
healthcare suppliers, including competitors.
