Apple Introduces New Title in Award-Winning WiggleWorks Series of Home
Learning Software

Parents Can Now Bring Home the Classroom-Proven Techniques that Make
Learning to Read and Write Fun

CUPERTINO, California--May 15, 1995--Apple Computer, Inc. today introduced
WiggleWorks Story Pack 2, a new product in the award- winning Apple Home
Learning software series, which makes learning to read and write fun.
WiggleWorks combines three engaging children's stories, along with
educational content on a single CD- ROM for Macintosh and Windows personal
computers. Children from ages three to eight can now use WiggleWorks as a
powerful learning tool to build reading and writing skills and express
their creativity.

"By further expanding our Apple Home Learning product line with WiggleWorks
Story Pack 2, Apple continues to give kids a head start in school," said
Laura Clark, manager, Apple Home Learning. Apple Home Learning titles such
as WiggleWorks and Earth Explorer draw from Apple's extensive experience
in the education market. These products are based on years of research and
incorporate the best thinking about how technology supports children's
learning."

WiggleWorks is a comprehensive learning system that lets children explore
creative reading and writing activities on their own or with a parent. The
program incorporates colorful characters and interactive stories that
capture the child's imagination and encourage their natural curiosity
about words. WiggleWorks was designed to be fun yet challenging, while
allowing kids to learn at their own pace.

WiggleWorks has been recognized by such organizations as MacUser Magazine
and the National Educational Media Network, and was selected as a top
educational software product by Parents Magazine and "That's Edutainment:
A Parent's Guide to Educational Software" from McGraw Hill.

Developed by Scholastic, Inc., the leading publisher of educational
materials, WiggleWorks is used in classrooms across the country and was
recently shown in a Harvard School of Education research study to
significantly raise reading scores among young children. Together, Apple
and Scholastic tailored WiggleWorks for home learning to help children
develop skills at home that provide an advantage in the classroom.

Unlike similar programs that merely read stories aloud, WiggleWorks
augments this capability with numerous other classroom-proven reading and
writing teaching techniques that build children's skills and enhance their
creativity.

WiggleWorks encourages parent involvement by including activity cards with
ideas for related reading, drawing and playing activities, as well as
suggestions for helping children create their own stories. Parents can
customize the WiggleWorks setup for various reading and writing skill
levels, making it ideal for multiple-child households. WiggleWorks also
lets parents record special messages for their children within the
stories. The software is fun and easy to use for all children, even those
with visual or motor impairment.
