DIGITAL ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR MICROSOFT SQL SERVER 6.0 WITH THE INDUSTRY'S
BROADEST LINE OF SERVERS

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- May 2, 1995 -- Digital Equipment Corporation is
announcing support for Microsoft SQL Server 6.0 relational database
management system with the industry's most complete and scalable CISC
(Intel) and 64-bit RISC (Alpha) servers at this week's DB/EXPO '95
information technology conference. In addition to platform support,
Digital, as a Microsoft Solution Provider, will provide enterprise service
and support for customers implementing Microsoft SQL Server 6.0
solutions.

Digital's Windows NT Server and Microsoft BackOffice server platforms will
all support the next version of Microsoft SQL Server, 6.0. With the
industry's broadest range of server platforms, Digital is providing
customers with flexibility and choice when deploying client-server
solutions. Digital's scalable server line-up for Window NT, from the
Prioris Pentium based PC servers to the the AlphaServer 2100 systems with
up to 4 Alpha microprocessors, will provide Microsoft SQL Server 6.0
customers an almost unlimited server growth path.

The Digital servers that will support Microsoft SQL Server 6.0 include
Prioris MTE systems; Prioris XL and HX servers; and AlphaServer 400 4/166,
AlphaServer 1000 4/233, AlphaServer 2000 4/233, AlphaServer 2000 4/275,
AlphaServer 2100 4/233, AlphaServer 2100 4/275, AlphaServer 2100 4/233
Rackmount, and AlphaServer 2100 5/250 servers.
