Dell Servers Bring High-end Server Features to Mainstream Server
Marketplace

AUSTIN, Texas, April 18, 1995 --- Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq: DELL)
announced that it is the first PC manufacturer to introduce a 75 MHz
Pentium dual-processor-based server, the Dell 75MHz PowerEdge SP-2.
Available today, the new server offers high-end, leading-edge features
currently found in the Dell PowerEdge multiprocessing server product line
-- but at an entry-level server market price. Starting at $3,501**
(configured with 16 megabytes of RAM and a 1 gigabyte hard drive), the new
75MHz PowerEdge server offers customers critical dependability and
reliability with its dual processing capability and high-end server
features.

REDUCED PRICES ON ENTIRE LINE OF DELL POWEREDGE SERVERS

Complementing the introduction of its new servers, Dell today announced it
has reduced prices on its complete line of Dell PowerEdge servers ranging
from 9 percent to approximately 30 percent. Dell said it is repositioning
its PowerEdge server line to bring features typically associated with
high-end servers -- to the mainstream server market space.

The pricing action delivers 486 and Dual Pentium processor-based servers
with award-winning technology. For example, the 90 megahertz (MHz) dual
(capable) Pentium processor based PowerEdge 590-2 SP is now offered
starting at $3,841**(configured with 16 megabytes of RAM, and a 1 gigabyte
hard drive). The 100 megahertz (MHz) dual (capable) Pentium
processor-based PowerEdge 5100-2 SP is now offered starting at
$4,101**(configured with 16 megabytes of RAM and a 1 gigabyte hard
drive).

THE NEW DELL 75MHz POWEREDGE SERVER

The new 75MHz PowerEdge server offers customers high availability and
critical dependability and reliability with its dual processing capability
and high-end PowerEdge line server options. These include error-checking
and correcting memory (ECC), hot pluggable hard drives, the Dell SCSI
array for data protection, fault tolerance and storage expansion, and the
Dell Server Management system including Dell SafeSite server management
software with Intel LANDesk network management software.

Targeted toward the entry-level server marketplace, the new server is ideal
for small to medium-sized workgroups running Novell NetWare or Microsoft
Windows NT, which have file and resource sharing needs or entry-level
database application requirements. Educational institutions, government
agencies and corporate workgroups expecting increased productivity
requirements can benefit from adding a second processor improving their
system performance.
