Network 99 Chooses Livingston to Supply 20,000 Dial-In Ports For Nationwide
Internet Service

SERVICE ALLOWS REGIONAL INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDERS TO OFFER NATIONWIDE
SERVICES

PLEASANTON, CA (April 24, 1995) -- Network 99, Inc. today announced it will
use Livingston Enterprise's line of remote access dial-in products for its
high-speed dial-in service for Internet access. This service will allow
regional Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to offer services nationwide.

Network 99's dial-in service is being installed on its' high-speed backbone
network to provide 20,000 dial-in ports by August 1995. Network 99 will
also use Livingston's Remote Access Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) for
access security as well as Livingston's future ISDN products to offer
higher-speed dial-in services.

The Network 99 dial-in service offers both ISPs and businesses a means to
provide Internet dial-up connectivity for employees or customers. Network
99 currently provides regional ISPs with a main connection to the
Internet, therefore acting as the "providers-provider". With Livingston's
technology at the core of Network 99's dial-up service, ISPs can now offer
nationwide dial-in accounts for their customers without having to invest
in phone lines, modems, backbone connectivity, dial-in communications,
installation, management or space for the necessary equipment. In effect,
any regional ISP can now offer nationwide services and a local dial-in
point for customers.

Businesses needing dial-in access for remote or traveling employees can
also achieve the same benefits from Network 99's service, providing a
cost-effective alternative to funding the equipment and services
themselves.

"To be able to provide this service, we needed a vendor who had proven
dial-up LAN technology and access security," said Joseph Stroup, Network
99 president. "We have used Livingston products for years and have been
happy with the products, support, and focus on the access market."

According to Stroup, Livingston's RADIUS security and PortMaster
Communications Servers are one of the few, if not only, solution that will
support Network 99's requirements for the dial-in service.

Network 99's dial-in service will offer support for the new high-speed V.34
modems, which support speeds of 28.8 Kbps. The company's future ISDN
service will provide dial-up speeds to 128 Kbps to support higher
bandwidth requirements. Network 99 will use Livingston's PortMaster
Communications Servers, which support from 10 to 30 dial-in ports per
server plus an optional integrated synchronous router port, for the
dial-in service.

Network 99, Inc. is a privately held company that specializes in providing
national and international high-speed backbone connections to the
Internet. Nationwide services are located in more than 25 major cities and
are available anywhere in the U.S.

Livingston Enterprises, Inc was founded in 1986. The company specializes in
dial-up access and LAN-to-LAN interconnectivity products. Best known for

FireWall IRX Router technology is used by over 400 Internet Service
