MEDIA VISION'S NEW QUAD-SPEED MULTIMEDIA KITS PROVIDE THE IDEAL SOLUTION
FOR THE EVOLVING DEMANDS OF MULTIMEDIA COMPUTING

- Line Includes First Kit to Give Consumers the Combination of Quad-speed
CD-ROM Performance, Wavetable Sound Synthesis, Powered Speakers and
Windows 95 ready Hardware -

FREMONT, CA --April 3, 1995 -- Media Vision Technology Inc., a leading
provider of multimedia technology to the consumer computing market, today
introduced two additions to its multimedia kit line. The kits are
specifically designed to address the demands of the coming generation of
multimedia content and operating systems. Both come equipped with
quad-speed CD-ROM drives. Featured in the new lineup is the industry's
first kit to deliver the combination of a quad-speed CD-ROM drive,
wave-table sound synthesis, powered speakers, CD-ROM titles, and Windows
95ready hardware.

Since the advent of multimedia computing, the industry has striven to
satisfy the consumer's ever increasing demand for greater realism. Sound
quality has steadily increased from basic 8-bit to 16-bit audio and sight
quality has been greatly enhanced by making large amounts of content
available through affordable mass-storage with the introduction of CD-ROM
drives. Now as the multimedia market grows even more sophisticated,
consumers are demanding even greater performance from their hardware.

"Our target consumers are familiar with purchasing consumer electronics, so
when they buy a multimedia kit, we expect that they'll have the same set
of standards that they would if they were purchasing a VCR or other
consumer electronic product," said G. Robert Brownell, President and CEO
of Media Vision. "With our new kits, we feel we've made great strides in
meeting those standards. Not only do you get all the pieces you'd expect
in a multimedia kit, you also get the best quality available. With
wavetable synthesis and quad-speed performance, consumers will realize the
benefits of more realistic sound and better performance of their CD-ROM
titles."

Full-Featured Multimedia Solution

The premium offering of these new kits is the MV 3200, featuring: a
high-performance IDE quad-speed CD-ROM drive, Pro Audio Wavetable sound
card, powered speakers, game pad, microphone, and 11 multimedia
applications.

The MV 3200 offers the ideal solution for the computer enthusiast. Its
CD-ROM drive provides a quad-speed transfer rate of 600 KB/sec (kilobytes
per second), an access time of 150ms and a buffer size of 256 KB for quick
access to information and video from most CD-ROM titles; the sound card is
Sound Blaster compatible, provides both wavetable and FM synthesis, and is
Windows 95 plug and play ready. The included speakers come standard with
an AC power adapter and offer 15 watts of power per side.

Quad-Speed CD-ROM drives

Not only is the throughput of these new drives twice as fast, quad-speed
drives offer better video and sound by greatly reducing the chance that
segments of the video or music will be dropped during transfer from the
disc to the computer. This is a result of the quad-speed transfer rate of
600KB/sec, compared to the dual-speed transfer rate of 300KB/sec. Until
recently the only quad-speed CD-ROM drives available featured proprietary
interfaces, severely limiting the consumer's ability to upgrade in the
future. Both of Media Vision's new kits feature industry standard
controller interfaces, IDE for the MV 3200 and SCS12 for the MV2200.

The Media Vision MV 3200 kit features the Pro Audio Wavetable 16-bit sound
card that offers consumers a whole new level of listening pleasure from
the computer. By using pre-recorded samples of actual instruments, rather
than electronic recreations, wavetable sound synthesis produces the
highest quality realistic sound available in computer audio.

High-performance Multimedia Solution

The Media Vision MV 2200 is targeted at consumers who are looking for
quad-speed performance at a double-speed price. It combines: a quad-speed
drive, a wavetable-upgradeable 16-bit stereo sound card, stereo speakers,
and 8 multimedia titles. The CD-ROM drive provides quad-speed transfer
rate of 600 KB/sec (kilobytes per second), an access time of below 200ms
and a buffer of 256 KB. The sound card is Sound Blaster compatible, and
features an industry standard connector for wavetable upgradeability.

"The MV 3200 is the ideal product for consumers looking to upgrade their
existing FM, dual-speed multimedia hardware," said Brownell. "It's also
great for first time multimedia buyers looking for a state-of-the-industry
product that offers better drive performance, better sound, better
speakers, and is Windows 95-ready. And the MV 2200 is perfect for
consumers who think they can only afford a dual-speed multimedia kit, and
then discover they can have the performance of quad-speed for the same
money." An Instant Library of Popular Software Titles

Media Vision's MV 3200 kit comes with nine popular software titles that
turn a home PC into a fully functional library, recording studio or game
room. The educational and entertainment titles include the best-selling
Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia, Critical Path, Kyrandia II, Fables and
Friends, Four Footed Friends, Stradiwackius, 7th Guest, Talk To Plus,
Wiggins and Cyberia Special Edition. The MV 2200 includes six of the
titles.

Both kits include two sound tool applications, Sound Impression and
Recording Session, for recording, mixing and editing MIDI and wave files
and playing audio compact disks. They also include a special bonus
shareware CD with 50 Windows games including Tetris.

For multimedia users who want to get on-line easily, the kits come with a
CompuServe Starter CD. The disk gives users easy sign-up to this on-line
information service as well as one free month of membership and a $15
usage credit
