MR Mac Software Releases Network Security Guard 3.0

Del Mar, CA - MR Mac Software announces the release of Network Security
Guard Version 3.0. The new version adds a much more sophisticated
procedure for the testing of a CPU's implementation of usernames and
passwords, as well as allowing administrator flexibility in adding tests.

The upgrade to this essential system administration tool adds improved
password guessing algorithms to the security audit tests. "The most
requested feature users asked for was improved password cracking
strategies. Our latest version of Network Security Guard gives them what
they wanted." says Michael Robertson, President of MR Mac Software.

Also added was a feature to allow system administrators to compose a
dictionary of usernames and passwords to employ during security audits.
Users can create username/password combinations which are tailored for
their own environments and have those checks included during security
audits.

Besides password cracking features, Network Security Guard also analyzes
each Mac's file sharing setup. Reports are then generated profiling each
CPU's configuration - paying special attention to the "Guest" access
feature which has been built into the Macintosh operating system since the
first version of System 7. "Quite often, 'Guest' access is the source of
compromised data on Macintosh computers. Our files are filled with horror
stories about many such incidents involving personnel records,
compensation plans and even future product development." reports MR Mac's
lead technical engineer, Frank Minarez.

To automate the repetitive process of performing security audits, Network
Security Guard incorporates a scheduling feature. This allows an
administrator to quickly setup a schedule to perform weekly scans of their
network. Results can be viewed online, exported to text files, or even
e-mailed to an administrator on a regular basis, making security
monitoring a painless endeavor.

Network Security Guard 3.0 is available for $259 plus shipping/handling.
Current users of Network Security Guard can upgrade for $50 or take
advantage of our special price of $30 for those ordering online
(upgrade@mrmac.com) with a credit card. Educational discounts of 10%
apply.
