FREE DAQ SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION UTILITY RELEASED FOR WINDOWS

Includes Information on New Portable and Jumperless/Switchless DAQ
Products

Austin, Texas - April 19, 1995 - National Instruments - The Virtual
Instrumentation Company - announces that the 1995 version of the company's
DAQ Designer software configuration utility is now available for Windows
and has been updated to include information on recently announced
products. Using DAQ Designer, engineers and scientists can configure
PC-based data acquisition (DAQ) systems for PC/XT/AT/EISA and PCMCIA-based
computers, including laptop and notebook computers; DAQ Designer helps
ensure that users have the right hardware and software for their
applications.

DAQ Designer is an interactive, easy-to-use package that asks the system
developer questions about system requirements, such as the type and number
of analog and digital signals, the type and number of sensors and signals,
and signal conditioning needs. DAQ Designer analyzes the answers and
recommends the appropriate company products, including plug-in DAQ boards,
signal conditioning products, cable assemblies, and software, to develop
the DAQ system. New products added to the 1995 DAQ Designer include:

 E Series plug-in boards - the first completely software-calibrated,
 software-configurable DAQ boards

 DAQPad-1200 - a high-performance, compact, external DAQ box

 DAQCard-DIO-24 - a low-power, low-cost, parallel digital I/O card for
 computers with a PCMCIA slot

SCXI - new modules for the company's modular signal conditioning
 system

Updated versions of LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI application software
 and NI-DAQ driver software
