Version 1.1 of SlipKnot, a graphical World Wide Web browser (similar to
Mosaic and Netscape) specifically designed for Microsoft Windows users who
have dial-up UNIX shell accounts with their service providers, has been
released by MicroMind, Inc.

SlipKnot's primary feature is that it does not require SLIP or PPP or
TCP/IP services to display documents, including pictures and sound. It
offers a terminal window (with vt100 emulation) into the UNIX session,
allowing use of normal UNIX commands for mail, news, etc. At the press of
a button, SlipKnot turns into a graphical WWW browser.

It also allows background retrieval of multiple documents and storage of
complete documents in user-definable folders on local hard disks (to demo
the WWW offline). Version 1.1 includes support for fill-in forms (through
lynx), gopher, telnet, modemless direct serial connections, longer job
queues and site license customizations.

SlipKnot is distributed as restricted shareware, with a registration fee of
$29.95 ($20 for individual users outside North America, Europe and Japan).
Upgrades through version 1.99 are free.
