ADI INTRODUCES NEW 14" AND 15" MICROSCAN COLOR MONITORS

SAN JOSE, CA--ADI Systems, Inc., is adding a new 14-inch and a new 15-inch
color monitor to its high-resolution, energy-efficient MicroScan family of
monitors.

Designed for graphics-intensive business computing, the new 14" MicroScan
3V and 15" MicroScan 4V feature improved performance, updated circuitry
and the same microprocessor-based intelligence as the other models in the
series. This built-in intelligence base remembers size, centering and
geometrical settings for preset and custom modes, eliminating the need for
constant adjustments. The new models also have a new high-style look with
a curved base, curved front panel and tapered silhouette.

The new V-series monitors offer full-screen display with up to 15% more
display area than conventional models; a non-interlaced image scanning
system that reduces screen flicker; and front panel controls that permit
easy adjustment of picture size, position and geometry.

Like the entire MicroScan Series, the new monitors employ energy-saving
technology that enables each to enter the standby/suspend mode with an
energy consumption of less than 15 watts and then enter the "sleep" mode
with a total energy consumption of less than 4 watts. Therefore, each is
compliant with the EPA Energy Star requirements of 30 watts or less as
well as the most stringent level of the Swedish NUTEK/TCO requirement of 5
watts or less. Both use the VESA Display Power Management Signaling (DPMS)
method to power-down, saving up to 93% in power consumption in the "sleep"
mode.

Both monitors are compatible with multiple video-standards including VGA,
SVGA, XGA and VESA modes. Models and estimated selling prices (ESP) are:

* The MicroScan 4V (ESP $409), a 15-inch FST monitor with INVAR mask, has a
0.28 dot pitch with a maximum non-interlaced resolution of 1280x1024 and a
1024x768 resolution at 76 Hz. The 4V is compliant with Swedish MPR II
requirements for low radiation emissions.

* The MicroScan 3V (ESP $315 or $329 for an MPR II-compliant low-radiation
version), a 14-inch monitor with a maximum non-interlaced resolution of
1024x768 and an 800x600 resolution at a 72 Hz refresh rate and a dot pitch
of 0.28.
