AGE Announces AppleShare Workstation 3.6 Compliance PacerShare 3.0 -- First
UNIX AppleShare Server Optimized for use with Apple's New Client

San Diego, CA, June 20, 1995 -- AGE Logic Inc., a leading developer of
Desktop-to-UNIX connectivity solutions, announces that its PacerShare 3.0
UNIX AppleShare file server fully supports the performance enhancements
available in Apple Computer Inc.'s AppleShare Workstation 3.6 (ASW)
client. Taking advantage of the optimization within the ASW 3.6 client
software, PacerShare 3.0 dramatically increases file serving speed.

The PacerShare 3.0 server enables client-side optimizations such as
read-ahead and write-behind buffering, and Finder-information caching. By
simultaneously handling multiple outstanding data requests, PacerShare 3.0
has increased throughput by 50-65% on common file serving operations.

According to Peter Shaw, president and CEO of AGE Logic, Inc., "AGE is
committed to providing our customers with the best possible access to
applications and information residing on diverse computer systems. Not
only is PacerShare 3.0 the first fully-integrated file sharing product to
comply with ASW 3.6, it's now optimized for maximum throughput
performance."

PacerShare is a high-performance AppleShare file server hosted on UNIX
platforms. Supported environments include: Sun Solaris, HP/UX, DEC OSF/1,
and IBM AIX. As an AFP 2.1 compliant implementation of Apple Computer,
Inc.'s AppleTalk Filing Protocol (AFP), PacerShare lets Macintosh users
mount directories as if they were Macintosh Volumes. Clients then access
the PacerShare file server via Apple's standard AppleShare client
software. It is the first new product to be released as a result of AGE's
acquisition of Pacer Software in March, 1995.

PacerShare provides complete interoperability with PC-NFS, Portable
Netware, PathWorks for UNIX and LAN Manager for UNIX. This high level of
compatibility lets system managers integrate file sharing services for
Macintosh, DOS, Windows and UNIX users on a single high-performance server
system.

PacerShare pricing is based on the number of simultaneously connected
users, starting at $3,000 for a 20-user license. Substantial discounts are
available in high volume environments. More information on PacerShare 3.0
is available by calling (619) 755-1000.
