Irvine, CA, May 15, 1995 -- Advanced Logic Research, Inc. (NASDAQ:AALR)
today announced the ALR Optima, its affordably priced entry-level 75- and
90-MHz Pentium PCs. The new ALR Optima PC offers innovative performance
and technology features that are ideal for users in the fast-paced
business environments where value, performance and compatibility are
important factors. The starting price for basic models is $1,445 and
$1,645, respectively.

Dave Kirkey, vice president of sales and marketing at ALR states, "As Intel
Pentium processing continues to reach new plateaus, ALR is able to offer
greater value and higher performance in its entry-level PCs. The new
aggressively-priced ALR Optima exemplifies this trend. In businesses where
time is money, the ALR Optima configured with a 75-MHz Pentium CPU can
give the user up to 105% performance gain over DX2/66 processing." Kirkey
continues to say, "Designed with all the latest features and performance,
the new Optima systems from ALR are well positioned as the perfect client
workstation complementing ALR's successful multiprocessor servers."

The ALR Optima uses the latest Triton chipset technology and most powerful
75- and 90-MHz Pentium processors from Intel, two important features that
make these systems attractive to corporations. The system comes standard
with 256-KB Level 2 cache, upgradeable to 2-MB and support upgrade to
future Pentium OverDrive processors.

Additionally, the ALR Optima systems include PCI bus architecture providing
two high performance bus-mastering PCI/IDE interfaces. With PCI/IDE, the
systems are capable of supporting up to four PIO Mode 3 and Mode 4 devices
with data transfers of up to 16-MB per second. Integrated PCI local bus
SVGA video graphics with 1-MB of DRAM, (upgradeable to 2-MB) come
standard. The ALR Optima offers support for advanced operating systems
such as WindowsTM 95, Windows NT, Novell NetWare, SCO UNIX, SunSoft
Solaris and OS/2 Warp from IBM.

User and network administrators will find the ALR Optima systems easy to
support with added features like built-in password security, FlashBIOS
and, full Plug and Play compatibility, making it easier to add components
to your system. The ALR Optima systems are compliant with the EPA Energy
Star Computers Program.

The ALR Optima systems will be available in June through a worldwide
network of ALR authorized Power Partner Resellers and Distributors.
Pricing for the ALR Optima systems start at $1,445 for Optima 575 Model 1
and $1,645 for Optima 590 Model 1. Pricing is at SRP (Suggested Retail
Price), reseller pricing will vary.

ALR offers its industry-leading 5/36 Limited Warranty program which covers
all major components of the product for 5 years and peripheral components
for a period of 36 months from the date of purchase.

Standard features include either a 75-MHz or 90-MHz Intel Pentium
processor, 8-MB RAM, 256-KB second level cache, 1-MB integrated PCI video
graphics, two 32-bit PCI and three 16-bit ISA expansion slots (one slot is
shared) in a low profile chassis. ALR offers an array of hardware options
including additional memory, PCI network cards, hard disk drives, and
multimedia options.
