FIRST QUAD MULTIPROCESSING SERVER FEATURES INTEL'S NEW 133-MHZ PENTIUM
PROCESSOR

ALR Addresses Growing Corporate Computing Client Server Market

Irvine, CA., June 12, 1995 -- Advanced Logic Research Inc. (ALR)
(NASDAQ:AALR), an industry leader in the design, manufacture, marketing
and support of advanced computer systems, today introduced the Revolution
QSMP 133, the industry's first symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) server to
support four Intel 133-MHz Pentium processors.

The Q-SMP 133 is designed to address the growing client server corporate
computing model where more corporations are distributing their computing
applications over a number of servers. To satisfy the increasing demands
of such environments, ALR's multiprocessing server provides the industry's
highest available performance using Intel's most powerful Pentium
processor. The new system adheres to Intel's multiprocessing spec V1.1
enabling the system to support commercially available multiprocessing
operating and application environments.

In addition, as the trend in graphic intensive desktop publishing, video
imaging and CAD/CAM applications grows, so does the need for high-end
multiprocessors that offer the power and flexibility of multiple CPUs on
one machine. The Revolution Q-SMP 133 offers users the power of Intel's
133-MHz Pentium processor with the expandability of ALR's server
architecture. The addition of the 133-MHz Pentium processor closes the gap
between Pentium architecture and RISC based servers offering users
high-end PC-based performance.

"ALR is committed to bringing to market the latest in CPU server technology
and design," said Genevieve Ortegon, ALR's vice president of marketing.
"The Revolution Q-SMP 133 is ideal for growing business and corporate
environments that require one to four CPUs. The system can grow as your
company grows, making expandability and the addition of more processing
power cost effective."

ALR's Unique Architecture Builds In the Power of Intel's Latest Pentium
Processor

The Revolution Q-SMP 133 is a continuation of the award winning Revolution
Q-SMP (symmetric multiprocessing) product family which was the first quad
90- and 100-MHz Pentium servers in the industry. The 64-bit multiprocessor
Q-SMP architecture supports four 133-MHz processors from the onset, unlike
other products which will initially only support single processor
solutions on the Intel chipsets. Furthermore, the new system builds in
support for PCI local bus providing optimum transfer rates for data and
graphics-intensive applications.

Users can also choose a Q-SMP system that supports Intel's 90- or 100-MHz
Pentium processor. The QSMP will also support the largest Level 2 cache on
the market. In addition to its 256-KB option the QSMP also has available
1- and 2-MB caches dedicated per CPU, where the majority of multiprocessor
servers on the market share the cache among processors. "Our goal is to
take advantage of the power offered by a multiprocessor architecture and
this includes providing dedicated cache for each processor. This speeds-up
the application, thus eliminating bottlenecks," Ortegon explained.

Ten expansion slots (six EISA and four PCI, one of which is shared) provide
maximum expandability for SCSI, network, video and other peripherals while
the server's up to 1-GB of Error Detection and Correction (EDC) RAM
supplies users with the most memory currently available to meet any
operating system or application requirement.

Also available are an abundance of storage expansion bays for systems
requiring multiple drives, CDROMs, tape back ups, and "hot" swappable
removable drives utilizing ALR's Quick Hot Swap technology. Additionally,
an optional dual 600 watt redundant power supply offers users reliability
and fault tolerance.

Security Measures and Server Management Provide Users With Extra Line of
Defense

The Revolution Q-SMP 133 features multiple levels of hardware and software
security to prevent unauthorized access and misuse such as chassis locks,
keyboard inhibit button and password security. Also standard with all ALR
servers is ALR NetTune server management allowing users to monitor and
tune their network environments. ALR will offer additional hardware and
software management tools in Q4 '95.

Price, Availability and Distribution

Pricing for the Revolution Q-SMP is set competitively at $7,495 for a base
model with 16-MB of RAM and 256-KB cache. The new multiprocessor server
will be available later this month. ALR products are sold direct to
corporate and small businesses through an international network of ALR
resellers. Additionally, the company offers its products through such
major distributors as Merisel, Tech Data, Gates/Arrow and GBC/Vitek.
