ANDYNE GQL CHARTS EXTENSION NOW AVAILABLE

Kingston, ON, Canada -- Andyne Computing Limited announced today that the
Andyne GQL Charts Extension will be generally available on June 23, 1995.
GQL Charts Extension for Windows enables users of GQL to create 79
different types of charts; more than any other Decision Support Systems
(DSS) application on the market today. Costing only $99, the new Charts
extension integrates seamlessly with Andyne GQL 3.3.2 and higher. GQL is
Andyne's DSS application for relational data sources.

Andyne's Charts extension enables users to create more chart types than any
competing database query and reporting application.Chart types include,
two- and three-dimensional bar, line, area, pie, and scatter charts.
Histograms, spectral maps, HiLoOpenClose, and surface charts. GQL Charts
integrates seamlessly with GQL Version 3.3.2 and higher through Andyne's
Open GQL architecture. With the report extension installed, results of GQL
queries can be turned into expressive charts with the click of a mouse.
Customizing GQL Charts is easy using the Gallery of charting templates,
and the charts editor that gives users complete control over text, colors,
graphics, and perspectives.

"Andyne changed the way decision makers access corporate databases when it
introduced GQL's visual approach to ad hoc SQL queries. Now Andyne's
Charts extension gives users a powerful graphical tool for communicating
the results," said A. Cameron Thompson, Andyne President and C.E.O. "GQL
Charts is just the latest in a series of report extensions, including
Crosstabs and Labels that allow users to custom-build the Decision Support
System that's just right for their business needs."

GQL is a powerfully simple decision support application for accessing
transaction level data on relational data sources. With GQL, there are no
character-based pick lists posing as a graphical interface, no need to
remember obscure database names or join conditions, no need to piece
together some pseudo-SQL syntax -- no need to understand SQL at all. GQL
is an intuitive, visual solution that makes business sense. It provides an
open architecture for add-on extensions like Charts so that end-users can
choose the reporting capability they need whether they want columnar
reports, crosstabular reports, charts and graphs, labels, or forms.

GQL offers what industry analysts call a Managed Query Environment (MQE).
Andyne pioneered MQE, which synchronizes IS expertise and end-user
freedom. MQE provides enterprise-wide consistency and security harmonized
with decision makers' needs for flexibility and timely analysis and
reporting.

GQL Charts gives users total control over the look of their reports.
WYSIWYG text editing and easy-to-use drawing tools help decision makers
personalize charts, import bitmap and vector graphics, customize legends
and labels, and modify three-dimensional chart perspectives. GQL Charts
Extension allows users to easily visualize their business data simply by
selecting the Charts extension from the menu of report styles. Here are
some of the charts that users can produce:

 Bar, Line, and Area Charts:
    Absolute
    Stacked
    Bipolar (Stacked and Absolute)
    Dual Axes (Stacked and Absolute)
    Percent

 Pie Charts:
    Pie
    Ring Pie
    Multiple (Pie and Ring)
    Multiple Proportional (Pie and Ring)

 3D Charts:
Riser (Bars, Pyramids, Octagons, Cut-Corner Bars)
    Floating (Cubes, Spheres)
    Connect Series (Area, Ribbons, Strips)
    Connect Group (Area, Ribbons, Strips)
    Surface (With Sides, Honeycomb)
Scatter (XYZ Scatter, XYZ Scatter with Labels)

 Plus:
    2D Scatter (plus Dual Axes)
    HiLo (plus Dual Axes)
    HiLoOpen (plus Dual Axes)
    HiLoOpenClose (plus Dual Axes)
    Spectral Mapped
    Histogram (Horizontal and Vertical)
    Table
    Pictograph

Other GQL Report Extensions:

GQL Charts for Macintosh -- available in late fall 1995

GQL Labels -- allows users to produce a wide range of standard Avery
labels as well as their own custom labels. Distributed free with
 GQL/User and GQL/Update.

GQL Crosstabs -- lets users see the relationships between multiple
sets of data -- all in one report. With the click of a mouse GQL
queries can be turned into crosstabular reports. GQL Crosstabs'
drag-and-drop facility lets users "slice and dice" their data --
 dragging dimensions to the GQL

Crosstabs stack lets them filter out excess data for pinpoint
analysis. And GQL Crosstabs' flexible formatting options help
end-users create crosstab reports with impact.

GQL HyperCube -- connects GQL to Andyne PaBLO(R), enabling
summarization and multidimensional analysis of transaction level
 data.

Andyne is a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ National Market System
