Apple Celebrates eWorld's First Birthday

Collection of On-line Events Caps First Year; New Version Expected Shortly

CUPERTINO, California--June 20, 1995--This week, Apple Computer, Inc.
celebrates the first year anniversary of eWorld, its on-line service, as
well as the imminent release of the next version of eWorld. An eclectic
assortment of on-line activities that range from the musical to the
technical to the literary will comprise the weeklong fiesta.

Over the past year, eWorld has grown to more than 90,000 members, signed on
nearly 300 publishers and has gained momentum in markets where Apple does
best--education, entertainment, home and business. The new version of
eWorld, (which has been code-named "Golden Gate") is expected to be
shipped this month and is slated to include increased Internet access, as
well as a collection of powerful new multimedia and electronic mail
features, at no extra charge.

eWorld, which is available to Macintosh users, was launched in June, 1994
and a Windows version of eWorld is expected later this year. Full
Worldwide Web access is expected in July.

"In just one year, eWorld citizens have proven that the on-line revolution
can be both intelligent and fun; exciting and civilized. And just as
important, eWorld citizens have proven that the Information Highway
can--and should--be a place where everyone can feel at home," said Peter
Friedman, eWorld vice president and general manager. "We send a virtual
salute to all our subscribers, and anxiously await bringing them--and all
our potential subscribers--the Internet in the upcoming release of
eWorld."

eWorld and its members will celebrate the service's primero birthday with
contests that commemorate the development of the on- line community and
conferences that punctuate its fun and openness, shed light on its future,
and offer first-hand, unedited information on the latest products from
Apple Computer.

Contests:

-- "Happy Anniversary" songs will be composed and sent via
   sound files.
-- "Happy Anniversary" cards will be designed.
-- Users can also submit essays to the Digital World Essay
Contest, explaining what eWorld and the on-line world
   means to them.

Free eWorld hours and t-shirts will be awarded to the winners, and the
deadline for all three of the contests is June 30.
