CHIPCOM AND DIGITAL EQUIPMENT SIGN EUROPEAN COOPERATIVE MARKETING
AGREEMENT

New Joint Program With Digital's Network Services Organization Covers
Europe, Africa and the Middle East

SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass., June 6, 1995 -- Chipcom Corporation (Nasdaq/CHPM)
today announced it has signed a European cooperative marketing agreement
with Digital Equipment Corporation.

This new agreement leverages Chipcom's expertise in intelligent switching
systems hardware and software products and Digital"s strength as a
world-class network value-added integrator addressing desktop and local
area network/wide area network (LAN/WAN) connectivity.

Today's announcement builds on the existing, 10-year-old worldwide reseller
relationship that has existed between the two companies to now include
joint marketing, sales and education collaboration in Europe, Africa and
the Middle East (EMEA).

Under the expanded agreement, Digital will integrate Chipcom"s ONcore
Switching System, ONline System Concentrator, Galactica Network Switching
Hub, StarBridge Turbo Switch and ONsemble StackSystem product families,
plus the company"s ONdemand NCS network management software and related
applications.

According to Graeme A. Shorter, Digital's vice president, Network Services,

Organization to reach a whole new set of networking customers in Europe."
