CARLSBAD, Calif. -- May 19, 1994 -- Compton's NewMedia today announced they
have worked with Intel Corporation to develop a demonstration of new
delivery systems to bring interactive content to home PCs using the cable
infrastructure.

"Compton's NewMedia looks forward to continuing its progress with the
latest effort to cooperate with Intel Corporation," said Elliott Dahan,
Compton's vice president of business development. "We recognize that the
success of consumer based multimedia on-line services depends on a close
partnership between developers providing compelling multimedia titles and
technology developers providing robust network/cable topology capable of
delivering video over existing cable infrastructure."

Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia* and The Sporting News* Pro Football
Guide will be the first two programs from a suite of titles by the
Carlsbad-based developer, publisher and distributor to be delivered via
cable to the home user's PC. Compton's NewMedia is working to demonstrate
its optimized video playback and software that ensures flawless delivery
of full-motion video, audio, pictures and text in the cable environment to
the PC via Intel cable modems, using technology currently under
development at Intel.

edutainment, and entertainment with a compelling lineup of more than 150
CD-ROM titles. Compton's own titles and those of its affiliated labels can

Topping the list of leading CD-ROM titles is Compton's Interactive
Encyclopedia for the PC and Macintosh. Premiere products in other
categories include The Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous Cookbook, Jazz: A
Multimedia History, The Human Calculator, and The Sporting News Pro
Football Guide.
