DIGITAL TO OFFER 133MHz PENTIUM PROCESSORS ON DESKTOPS AND PC SERVERS

State-of-the-Art Power for Prioris PC Servers, Celebris XL and Venturis
Desktop Lines

MAYNARD, Mass. -- June 12, 1995 -- Digital Equipment Corporation today
announced its plans to incorporate the new 133MHz Pentium processor in its
Celebris XL 5133 desktop PC and the Prioris HX 5133 PC server. Intel
announced availability of the 133MHz Pentium processor earlier today. At
the same time, Digital also announced the new Venturis 5120 in its value
line and said that it is shipping the Celebris XL 5120 in volume.

Today's announcement is part of Digital PC's strategy to offer a wide range
of competitively-priced, feature-rich, easy-to-use Pentium PCs and
servers. "We are very aggressive on the Intel Pentium power curve," said
Howard Elias, vice president, Desktop and Mobile Product Lines, for
Digital's Personal Computer Business Unit. "With today's announcement,
Digital offers one of the broadest lines of Pentium PCs available from any
supplier."

Celebris XL: Workstation-Class PCs for Power Users

Digital is continuing to expand its desktop family by offering
state-of-the-art 133MHz and 120MHz Pentium processors in the Celebris XL
power desktop line. Designed for power users, Celebris XL systems maximize
customer ownership by offering workstation-class performance and maximum
investment protection at PC prices. The Celebris XL systems are the
industry's only PCs to offer an upgrade path from 486 to Pentium to P6 and
Alpha processors. The Celebris XL 5120 with a 120MHz Pentium CPU, 16MB
RAM, 256K burst cache, 1GB SCSI hard drive, PCI S3 964 graphics card and
3X CD-ROM has a U.S. list price of $4,999 and is available in volume
today. The Celebris XL 133MHz Pentium processor system, will be available
in July, with pricing announced at that time.

Prioris HX PC Servers: Performance and Scalability

Digital's Prioris HX 5133 is a high-performance, scalable PC server
available in single- and dual-processor configurations. The addition of
the 133MHz Pentium processor expands the high-performance options for
customers who seek advanced, reliable PC servers, but are not ready to
move into full-blown, symmetric multi-processing. All the Prioris HX
systems are optimized to meet customers' needs today and in the future
with processor, disk and memory scalability as well as a host of
fault-tolerance features. Pricing and availability of the Prioris HX 5133
will be announced this summer.

Digital currently offers several models of Pentium based PC servers,
including the Prioris HX 590 and Prioris XLS 590 in single- and
dual-processor configurations. The Prioris family's combination of Pentium
power and high-bandwidth PCI I/O enables the industry's most balanced
server design to provide customers with maximum longevity for their
technology investment.

Feature-Rich Venturis PCs for Enterprise Computing

Digital offers a full range of Pentium systems for general business users.
With the addition of the new Venturis 5120, Digital brings the power of
the 120MHz processor into the value line. Last month Digital introduced
six new PCI-based Venturis Pentium systems in its value line. All of the
new systems are designed to optimize productivity for enterprise computing
users while offering exceptional price/performance. The Venturis Pentium
systems also offer several ease-of-use features as well as a DMI browser
