DELL BRINGS LATEST PENTIUM PROCESSOR TO OPTIPLEX DESKTOP PRODUCTS

High-Powered Systems Ideal for Highly Networked Corporate Marketplace
AUSTIN,

Texas, June 12, 1995 -- Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq: DELL) today
continued to drive the industry's transition to Intel's Pentium processor,
introducing Dell OptiPlex desktop systems based on the new 133 megahertz
(MHz) Pentium processor. Because of Dell's direct business model and low
inventory position, the company has been able consistently to offer the
latest Intel processors as soon as they are available. Dell's OptiPlex
systems are designed specifically for corporate customers who require
highly reliable systems for use in a networked environment. The Dell
OptiPlex X5133 systems are available immediately and start at $3,595 in
the United States for a system configured with 16MB of random access
memory, a 540 megabyte hard drive, a 15-inch color super VGA monitor,
MS-DOS, Microsoft Windows 3.11 and a mouse.

"Helping our corporate customers transition rapidly to the latest processor
technologies provides a number of important benefits that reduce the
overall cost of their systems -- what we call the lifecycle cost," said
Tom Martin, Dell's vice president of major accounts marketing. "For
example, the sooner a corporate customer can transition to the latest
processors, the longer a product will be of value before it needs to be
replaced. When you combine this advantage with the variety of key features
offered in the OptiPlex line that further reduce a product's lifecycle
cost, you get the ideal corporate desktop product. Because of our unique
customer-focused business model, we can continue to provide these benefits
to customers over the long term."

The Dell OptiPlex X5133 offers not only the fastest Pentium processor on
the market, it also provides customers with a wide variety of
"value-added" features ideal for corporate and government customers. These
features, as well as Dell's capability to custom-configure systems to a
customer's order, reduce the overall lifetime cost of the system by
reducing the costs associated with acquiring, supporting, configuring and
managing PCs across enterprise wide networks. For example, Dell's OptiPlex
systems are not only extensively designed and tested for reliability and
used in complex networks, they also offer customers some of the industry's
most advanced intelligent system management tools, creating "smart PCs"
which enable customers to begin to easily track and manage their PC
inventories, reducing the time and expense associated with asset
management. The software interface that helps create these "smart PCs" is
known collectively as DMI (desktop management interface). To help
corporate network adminstrators identify and troubleshoot problems, Dell
has developed an easy-to-use software interface known as the "Dell
Inspector" which provides a graphical look at system information down to
the component level, simplifying the process of managing and
trouble-shooting the PCs on the network, reducing the customer's overall
support costs.

These features demonstrate Dell's longtime commitment to providing its
customers with industry-standard technology, while managing total product
lifecycle costs, from the initial purchase with software and peripheral
installation to the end-of-life with asset recovery.

A Fortune Global 500 company, Dell Computer Corporation is the world's
leading direct marketer of personal computers and one of the largest PC
manufacturers in the world, based on annual revenues of nearly $3.5
billion. Dell designs and customizes products and services to end-user
requirements and offers an extensive selection of peripherals and software
through the DellWare program. Information on Dell and its products can be
