ELECTRONIC ARTS INVESTS IN SOFTWARE PUBLISHER, NOVALOGIC; COMPANIES INK
FOUR-YEAR DISTRIBUTION DEAL

SAN MATEO, Calif., May 9, 1995 -- Electronic Arts (Nasdaq:ERTS), a leading
global interactive entertainment company, today announced it has acquired
a minority equity stake in NovaLogic, Inc., a leading interactive game
developer and publisher, based in Calabasas, California. It was also
announced that NovaLogic has signed a four-year Affiliated Label agreement
under which Electronic Arts (EA) will have exclusive distribution rights
for NovaLogic's CD- and floppy-based entertainment software in
English-speaking countries. Financial terms of the agreements were not
disclosed.

Founded in 1985, NovaLogic, Inc. is a leading developer and publisher of
interactive entertainment products for the personal computer and home
video game formats. NovaLogic's award-winning products include Comanche,
Armored Fist, WolfPack, and Ultrabots. The company has pioneered real time
interactive 3-D rendering for the PC with its proprietary Voxel Space
technology (patent pending).

"NovaLogic has some of the best creative talent in the interactive
entertainment software industry," said Larry Probst, chairman and CEO of
Electronic Arts. "This is an investment in a successful, growing publisher
with great products, a proven track record, and leading-edge technology."
"We are delighted to welcome Electronic Arts as an investor," said John
Garcia, president and CEO of NovaLogic. "Our past business relationship
has been very successful, and we look forward to many more years." He
added, "EA understands the development and distribution of interactive
entertainment software as well as anyone in the world. We are pleased to
be associated with such fine brands as Bullfrog, Origin and EA SPORTS."

The minority investment in NovaLogic follows a recent strategic investment
in Visual Concepts, Inc. of San Rafael, CA, and the acquisition of
Bullfrog Productions Ltd. of Surrey, England, both in January of this
year. Bullfrog was the third major interactive software company acquired
by Electronic Arts in the past four years. Origin Systems, Inc., the
Austin, Texas-based entertainment software developer of titles such as the
Wing Commander and Ultima series, was acquired in 1992. Distinctive
Software Inc. of Vancouver, Canada, developers of EA SPORTS properties
such as NHL Hockey '95 for PC-CD and FIFA International Soccer, was
acquired in 1991.

Electronic Arts, headquartered in San Mateo, California, is a leading
interactive entertainment software company. Founded in 1982, EA posted
revenues of over $490 million for fiscal 1995. The company develops,
publishes and distributes software worldwide for advanced entertainment
systems such as the Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and 3DO Interactive
Multiplayer, as well as IBM-compatible PCs, Macintosh computers, and major
dedicated video game systems. Electronic Arts markets its products
worldwide under four brand names: EA Sports, Electronic Arts Studio,
Bullfrog Productions Ltd. and Origin Systems, Inc. EA has wholly-owned
subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Australia,
Canada, Puerto Rico and Austin, Texas. More information about EA's
