EIU'S COUNTRY INFORMATION RELEASED ON I-TRADE

June 7, 1995 -- New York, NY, USA -- Trade Point USA and the Economist
Intelligence Unit (EIU) will collaborate to offer EIU's country analyses
and regulatory information through I-TRADE, the trade information and
facilitation service which the Trade Point has launched on the World Wide
Web this month.

I-TRADE is an Internet-based clearinghouse for trade information and
trade-related services designed to provide new and experienced exporters
with low cost access to public and private sector sources of information
for trade as well as referrals to qualified providers of trade support
services. Through this subscription-based service, users can access market
analyses, trade opportunities, financing, risk management and
transportation resources that they need to find a trading partner,
negotiate a transaction and ship or receive goods. The service
incorporates information and services which traders frequently cite as
vital to their entry into, and successful participation in, international
trade.

The EIU TradeWire, a specialized online information service for companies
trading abroad, provides country analyses, information on trade
regulations and timely briefings on trade issues covering 25 countries,
including the leading US trading partners. For each country, EIU TradeWire
provides analysis and interpretation of trends in economic and trade
activity; forecasts of trade growth, market trends and currency movements;
an assessment of political and economic risk factors affecting trade; and
an overview of the regulatory regime governing importing, exporting,
licensing and pricing.

The I-TRADE service will also include access to several trade directories
from the Journal of Commerce, which was recently acquired by The Economist
Group. These resources will facilitate online searches for profiles of US
importers, exporters and trade service providers, such as customs brokers
and freight forwarders.

Lou Celi, Managing Director for Electronic Publishing at EIU, noted that
"I-TRADE marks the beginning of a new era of electronic commerce--where
exporters can access the latest market intelligence, find trade
opportunities and conduct crossborder transactions from their PCs."

Other information and service providers which are participating in the
initial release of the I-TRADE product include:

* STAT-USA, an agency of the US Department of Commerce, offering the
National Trade Data Bank, which is an extensive compendium of trade
information from numerous US Government sources.

* Datamatix, providing trade leads from other UN Trade Points and
foreign trade organizations as well as US federal and state
  government procurement opportunities.
