IBM and IBM Credit Announce a Software Developer Lease for the IBM PC
Server 500 S/390

STAMFORD, Conn., June 6, 1995 . . . IBM and IBM Credit have created the PC
Server S/390 Software Developer Lease for qualified software developers
acquiring the new IBM PC Server 500 S/390.

With the lease, best-credit software developers may acquire the PC Server
500, which runs S/390 applications, for a monthly cost as low as 2 percent
of the list price. The initial lease term is 36 months, however, the lease
may be cancelled without penalty if developers provide 30 days notice
anytime within the first six months of their agreement.

The PC Server S/390 Software Developers Lease includes hardware only. IBM
will provide a loaned license for all System/390 software at no additional
charge for a limited time.

"This program is designed to encourage developers to continue creating
System/390 applications," said John E. Callies, IBM Credit general
manager, end-user customer financing. "We believe this program will
facilitate their technology acquisition and fit their unique
requirements."

THE IBM PC SERVER 500 S/390

The IBM PC Server 500 S/390 is an innovative and technologically advanced
server that will enable application developers to write and test mainframe
applications right on their PC, either in a stand-alone or LAN
environment. That will save customers money by allowing developers to
create new mainframe applications without sharing time on the mainframe.
The product combines the reliability and high performance of the PC Server
500, running IBM's OS/2 Warp in a stand-alone or LAN environment, with
System 390 architecture capable of running mainframe operating systems,
including VM/ESA, MVS/ESA and VSE/ESA and other related applications.

The PC Server S/390 is a powerful PC LAN-based solution equipped with a
CMOS processor and a 90 MHz Pentium complex. The System 390 Microprocessor
complex includes 32MB Error Checking and Correction (ECC) memory with
expansion memory capacity of up to 128MB and supports VM/ESA, VSE/ESA or
MVS/ESA operating systems and software. The PC Server S/390 comes with
32MB ECC memory standard, expandable to 256MB ECC memory for use by OS/2
and Pentium processors. This PC Server can be configured with up to 38GB
of internal disk storage with SCSI-2 Fast and Wide "hot-pluggable" disk.
It is available in both array (RAID) and non-array models. Standard
features include a 4mm digital audio tape (DAT) drive, a CD-ROM drive and
a 2.88MB diskette drive. It also includes OS/2 Warp Fullpack and
Communications Manager/2. It supports OS/2, DOS and Windows applications.

               IBM CREDIT CORPORATION

IBM Credit is a wholly owned subsidiary of IBM Corporation, offering
end-user leasing and financing for IBM and complementary solutions. It
also offers remarketers inventory and accounts receivable financing and
leasing for their customers.

* To qualify for this offering, software developers must be members of the
S/390 Application Developers Association and must complete a credit
application. Best-credit customers will receive the lowest rates. All
orders will be administered by the SVO organization. Software developers
outside the United States should contact a local IBM representative.
