ANNOUNCING AUTOGL 1.0

INTERGRAPH OPENGL PROGRAM INCREASES AUTOCAD PERFORMANCE UP TO 9,400
PERCENT

Atlanta, June 6, 1995 -- At AEC Systems, Intergraph Software Solutions
(ISS), a worldwide leader in visualization and CAD/CAM/CAE applications
announced AutoGL. This AutoCAD OpenGL engine is a multi-threaded OpenGL
program that works with optimized hardware drivers to accelerate AutoCAD
graphics performance on Windows NT.

By removing the performance barriers to running CAD software on Windows NT,
Intergraph AutoGL allows AutoCAD users to take advantage of the broad
range of Windows applications, the ease-of- use and advanced functions of
Windows NT coupled with the speed of OpenGL. Preliminary results indicate
that AutoGL 1.0 accelerates performance of AutoCAD Release 13 up to 94
times under Microsoft Windows NT 3.5. The product improves AutoCAD 2-
D--and particularly 3-D--rendering performance on any Intel/Windows
system. You are not required to have OpenGL graphics hardware. However,
the best performance improvements will be obtained on multi-processor,
OpenGL systems. Priced at $250 with exceptional functionality and
performance, AutoGL 1.0 is within reach of virtually every AutoCAD user.
AutoGL 1.0 is scheduled to ship in July.

"AutoGL is an example of Intergraph Jupiter-based technology which brings
high performance, modular CAD components to the market place that take
full advantage of the power of Windows NT ," said Gene Grindstaff,
executive manager of Intergraph Software Solution's Visualization Product
Center. "This unique software tool -- AutoGL -- and its
previously-announced MicroStation counterpart -- MOGLE -- allows AutoCAD
and MicroStation to significantly exceed their previous graphics
performance," said Grindstaff. "Intergraph is providing state-of-the-art
enabling technologies for the most popular computer-aided design packages
today, taking full advantage of the growing availability of high
performance OpenGL graphics systems, such as those offered by Intergraph,
AccelGraphics, Omnicomp, and others."

How does AutoGL work?

Intergraph AutoGL replaces the native Autodesk Display Interface (ADI)
display driver with an OpenGL-compliant driver and loads a fast, efficient
OpenGL-compliant renderer. The AutoGL renderer retrieves AutoCAD element,
view, lighting and material data. It then converts the data to OpenGL
format, which is quickly displayed on screen in wire-frame or
smooth-shaded views. Performance gains are achieved with a highly
optimized display list and unique rendering algorithms front-ending OpenGL
hardware accelerators. OpenGL and Windows NT

"OpenGL is a 3D graphics library designed for the types of tasks that an
AutoCAD user performs, such as creating and displaying elements,
renderings, wire meshes and smooth-shaded views," says Grindstaff. "OpenGL
is a more efficient graphics interface than Windows and combined with the
unique features AutoGL 1.0 optimizes AutoCAD's graphics performance for
both 2D and 3D tasks."

AutoGL's processing power is also boosted through the multiprocessing
capabilities of Windows NT. AutoGL is a multithreaded application, and
application threads can be processed simultaneously on systems using
multiple processors. The result is a more efficient use of hardware,
further reducing display time. This scaleable architecture yields
additional improvements in dual processors systems over single processor
systems.

Previously Announced

Intergraph OpenGL Program Increases Graphics Performance Up To 11,000
Percent

On February 1, 1995, Intergraph Software Solutions announced MOGLE Version
2.0. This MicroStation OpenGL Engine provides increases in MicroStation
graphics performance up to 110 times under Microsoft Windows NT 3.5. "With
its increased functionality and performance, MOGLE 2.0 can benefit
virtually every copy of MicroStation, 2D or 3D", said Grindstaff.
