JONES INTERACTIVE, INC. AND OPTIMUM RESOURCE, INC. ANNOUNCE JOINT VENTURE
IN EDUCATIONAL AND ENTERTAINMENT PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

Learn to Read with Stickybear to be the first Interactive Learning Project

(Englewood, Colo.)--Jones Interactive, Inc. (JII) and Optimum Resource,
Inc. have formed a joint partnership to develop and market educational
print, video, and multimedia materials.

The first product to be developed and marketed by Jones/Optimum Media will
be Learn to Read with Stickybear, an interactive reading experience. Learn
to Read with Stickybear will be a multi-age reading skills product
appropriate for beginning readers and remediation for older students
through adults. The product will be distributed initially as a video and
print package and later released on CD-ROM.

According to the partnership, Optimum Resource will develop and produce the
print materials and software for upcoming projects and Jones Interactive
and Jones Education Networks (JEN) will provide marketing support through
the JEN networks, which include Mind Extension University (ME/U): The
Education Network and Jones Computer Network (JCN). Initially, the
products will be marketed via infomercials to air on JCN and ME/U. In
addition, Optimum Resource will market products to schools and through its
own channels while JII and JEN market the products through their own print
channels.

Jones/Optimum Media tentatively plans to launch Learn to Read with
Stickybear to the general public in the Spring of 1996. "We are proud to

titles include software programs and CD-ROMs for Macintosh, Windows, DOS,
and Apple computers, as well as CD-interactive titles for the new Philips

reading, language arts, and science programs as well as highly motivating
skill, creativity, and entertainment programs for preschool age youngsters

entertaining and educational programs about computers and other forms of
information technology. JCN, launched in May of 1993 as a prime time
programming segment on ME/U, launched as a full-time network in September
1994, and currently reaches approximately 1 million television
households.

Mind Extension University (ME/U): The Education Network, a subsidiary of
Jones Education Networks, Inc., is the only basic cable television network
devoted to distance education and currently reaches approximately 26
million households in nearly 9,000 communities. ME/U works in conjunction
with more than 30 universities and the nation's leading providers of
distance education, offering a broad range of professional development,
skills based and college credit programming including a choice of ten
degree programs, language and cultural programming, computer literacy
classes and programming for personal enrichment.

Jones Education Networks (JEN), a subsidiary of Jones International, Ltd.,
