PEER-TO-PEER NETWORKING, A TRULY EASY SOLUTION WITH NET44

Leunig Communications Inc. (L.C.I.) announces a new technology:
peer-to-peer networking through the parallel printer port. With this new
concept in mind, L.C.I. introduces Net44. Now networking four computers is
an easy task. Net44 is connected to each computer using a standard printer
cable. Only one printer port is needed on each computer to network with
other computers and to simultaneously access two printers also connected
to the unit. Net44 automatically adapts to all the existing parallel ports
as well as to the Enhanced Parallel Port as defined in the IEEE 1284
standard.

The network is fully Ethernet compatible and comes with a NDIS3 driver that
supports the full networking functionality of Windows for Workgroups 3.11
and the future Windows 95. A driver for OS/2 Warp will be available in the
near future.

According to L.C.I., the advantages of this technology are enormous. The
parallel port is readily available on any PC and any notebook computer,
thus offering the broadest connectivity of all possible interfaces. It is
simple to install without opening the computer and without the need of
additional hardware. Peer-to-peer networking and Net44 are just smart
connectivity. A former disadvantage of parallel port - speed - has been
overcome with the new IEEE1284 parallel port standard. It offers fully
bidirectional transmission at up to 2 MBytes/Second, which is beyond
Ethernet speed. IEEE 1284 compatible chip sets are already implemented in
a multitude of new computers and a majority of all notebooks.

With Net44, printer data is directly passed to the printer, thus offering
high speed printer access (more than 100 KBytes/Second) without added load
to the network. Net44 bypasses the typical network printing restrictions
under Windows 3.11, such as running Windows or keeping a printer server
powered. In addition, pure DOS printing is also supported.

With Net44's simplicity, performance and pricing (half the cost of a
comparable Ethernet installation), L.C.I. foresees the majority of small
office networks taking advantage of parallel peer-to-peer networking.

Net44 networks up to four computers using standard parallel cables and
supports 4-bit, 8-bit, and ECP communication. The unit has two on-board
printer ports allowing all users access to two printers under Windows 3.x
and DOS. Net44 includes power supply 120 Volt 60 Hz and has a suggested
retail price of $249.90.

Leunig Communications Inc., is located at 1630 Oakland Road, #A115 in San
Jose, CA (408) 441-6560 and is a subsidiary of a German-based company,
which has been a leader in parallel data transmission since 1980.
