Lexmark Enhances Support For Novell's Netware Directory Services With
MarkVision Network Printer Utility

--Company Enhances Printer Access on Novell Networks--

GREENWICH, CT., June 12, 1995 ...Lexmark International Inc. today announced
a version of its MarkVision network printer management software that
improves usability and user access to status and configuration
information, and installs print drivers for Lexmark printers attached to
Novell NetWare 4.x networks via Lexmark's MarkNet XL and XLe families of
network adapters. Lexmark is the first network printer manufacturer to
offer this level of printer status information and management to end users
in the NetWare Directory Services (NDS) environment.

This enhanced function provides Microsoft Windows 3.1 and 3.11 NetWare 4.x
client users the following new and important features for NDS
environments: The full complement of MarkVision features including Remote
Operator Panel, alert notification, and printer configuration through the
MarkVision application Print drivers can now configure themselves via
bi-directional communication with any Optra, 4039 plus or Color Jetprinter
4079 plus printers that are set up as an NDS NPrinter print object Network
installation of the MarkVision program and Windows client print drivers

The capability to automatically verify and update the latest version of
Windows client application print drivers from the NetWare server "Novell

Lexmark's current network printing products offer a broad range of Novell
compatibility with NetWare 2.2, 3.x, and 4.x, along with UnixWare 1.1 and
2.0 printing utilities. Lexmark's Optra printer family supports 1,200 x
1,200 dpi printing and up to two MarkNet or MarkNet XL internal network
adapters (INAs) with multiprotocol capabilities that allow printing from
more than 30 network environments including Novell NetWare, Microsoft
Windows NT, IBM OS/2 LAN Server, Banyan VINES, and a full spectrum of UNIX
environments.
