NOVELL EDUCATION EXPANDS AUTHORIZED TRAINING CHANNEL TO INCLUDE
APPLICATIONS TRAINING PROVIDERS

Expanded Training Channel Targets Large End-User Market for Novell
Applications Literacy; Offers New Business Opportunities for Novell
Authorized Education Centers

June 6, 1995--Edge #95--Novell Inc., announced today that it is expanding
its authorized training channel with the addition of Novell Applications
Training Providers to target the enormous Novell applications end-user
market. Novell Applications Training Providers are expected to raise
literacy on Novell applications across the broad and diverse end user
training market, teaching end users how to use the tools that change the
way people work and ensuring that they are fully empowered with
applications-based training.

"The end-user training market is diversified and mobile, and requires
flexible learning solutions," said Carolyn G. Rose, Vice President and
General Manager of Novell Education. "Novell Applications Training
Providers will be empowered to offer easily adaptable instruction, along
with flexible modular courseware for mass customization."

GROWING THE INDUSTRY'S MOST SUCCESSFUL CHANNEL

Novell Education has established the most successful training channel in
the industry in its Novell Authorized Education Centers and Novell
Education Academic Partners. These Novell-authorized education partners
are "the Source" for Systems training, and will now have the opportunity
to expand their training solutions by becoming Novell Applications
Training Providers and offering Novell End User courseware. The Novell
Applications Training Provider program delivers on the promise of the
Novell/WordPerfect merger. It is complementary to Novell Education's
current channel in that it adds support for end user applications
training.

"Partnerships are the heart and history of Novell Education," said Novell
Education's Rose. "With our Novell Authorized Education Centers, Novell
Education Academic Partners, and Novell Applications Training Providers,
Novell Education continues to establish the unique infrastructure to
support one billion users."

Organizations applying to become Novell Applications Training Providers
have several options as to how they provide training, allowing them the
flexibility to serve the broad end-user training market. The requirements
for providing Novell-authorized training as a Novell Applications Training
Provider are: 1) having a Novell Applications Instructor on staff full
time, and 2) using Novell-developed End User courseware. This flexibility
allows corporations to become Novell Authorized Training Providers,
offering training in-house to their employees, as long as they contract
the services of a Novell Applications Instructor. Additionally, Certified
Novell Instructors (CNIs) may apply to become "mobile" Novell Applications
Training Providers, taking end-user applications training on the road.

CHANNEL OBSERVATIONS

"The Novell Applications Training Provider program will allow us to provide
our customers with a complete, one-stop solution," said Bob Petrasek,
Technical Training Supervisor for Honeywell Allied Data Communications. As
a Certified Novell Instructor and Novell Authorized Education Center
manager, Petrasek ensures that Honeywell customers get the training they
need. "Companies can spend a lot of money on hardware and software, but
unless they train the end users how to use it, they won't gain the
productivity they need to compete. Our customers are looking for us to
take total responsibility for making their investment work, from systems
integration to end-user training." "The Novell Applications Training
Provider program truly integrates the former WordPerfect applications
trainers and end users under the Novell training umbrella," said Cathy
Schaefer of Ameridata. Schaefer is a Certified Novell Instructor and
Novell Authorized Education Center Manager. "We are able to clearly
articulate our expertise to our clients under this new Novell training
program."

According to CNI Lisa Serradilla, Novell's applications training
partnership strategy offers the ideal balance of flexibility and
standardization. "As a Novell Applications Training Provider, I can give
my corporate clients the same #authorized training' at all their offices
globally."

NOVELL EDUCATION PERSPECTIVE

Novell Education's mission is to drive global pervasive computing through
quality education programs and products. Since 1987, Novell has pioneered
a leveraged model for providing training. Today, Novell training partners
around the globe provide instructor-led training and other self-study
options to student customers. Novell Authorized Education Centers in North
America also offer distance learning via satellite. In 1995, Novell's
1,300 Novell training partners will teach three quarters of a million
student customers. In addition to innovating the leveraged education
model, Novell Education has also pioneered certification in the
information technology area with its industry-leading programs. CNEs are
the global standard for servicing and supporting networking and network
applications; CNAs are the global standard for administering networking
and network applications; and CNIs are the global standard for teaching
networking and network applications. Currently, there are more than
60,000-plus CNEs, as well as 90,000 CNEs "in progress." There are
4,700-plus ECNEs, more than 50,000 CNAs and more than 3,000 CNIs.
