OLICOM TO PROVIDE TOKEN-RING PCI SUPPORT FOR IBM PERSONAL COMPUTER POWER
SERIES

June 19, 1995, Copenhagen, Denmark - Olicom, a leading supplier of
high-performance networking solutions, today announced that Olicom will
supply PCI-based Token-Ring network interface cards for the IBM Personal
Computer Power Series based on the PowerPC microprocessor. Olicom is one
of several companies demonstrating industry support for IBM in its launch
today of the company's Power Series systems.

Olicom's Token-Ring PowerPC PCI package adds support for all PowerPC
platforms to the company's currently shipping PCI adapter. Customers can
order the Olicom PCI card directly from IBM as an option on the Power
Series systems. The IBM version of the product features drivers for
operating systems directly supported by the Power Series (i.e., Windows NT
and AIX). Customers needing support for additional operating systems such
as Windows, DOS and UNIX can order the adapter along with an optional
software and documentation kit for PowerPC platforms through Olicom's
standard distribution channels.

The IBM Personal Computer Power Series and ThinkPad Power Series family
delivers superior performance to meet the increasing demands of
client/server environments. Based on an industry-standard platform, the
systems take advantage of the PowerPC microprocessor to provide an open
environment capable of running advanced applications on a variety of
32-bit operating systems, including OS/2 WARP Connect, AIX, Windows NT and
Solaris.

To promote the open platform and accessibility of the PowerPC
microprocessor, IBM has worked with industry leading Independent Hardware
Vendors (IHVs). The companies, all of whom have worked closely with IBM in
design, development and testing of PowerPC components, were chosen based
on their reputation and product quality.

We believe the IBM Power Series family will be a significant product for
corporate computing, and we know that many corporate customers will need
high-performance Token-Ring connectivity, said Kurt Nybroe-Nielsen, deputy
managing director of Olicom A/S. The corporate marketplace will be able to
take advantage of the performance and compatibility benefits of the Power
Series family while still maintaining the freedom to purchase computer
accessories from the vendors they prefer. Our PCI card will take full
advantage of the performance features of the PowerPC microprocessor while
offering the same quality, reliability and cost-effectiveness that
customers have come to expect from Olicom.

Adapter Features

Olicom's Token-Ring PCI Adapter provides PC users - particularly power
users - with optimal performance for new and more demanding applications
like multimedia. Incorporating a full 32-bit PCI bus master interface,
Olicom's PCI Adapter can achieve peak data transfer rates as high as 133
Mbytes/sec.

The adapter combines the latest Token-Ring technology with Olicom
integrated circuits to achieve maximum performance levels. Olicom has
incorporated its unique PowerMACH driver technology into Microsoft Windows
NT and IBM AIX drivers optimized for the PowerPC environment.

The Olicom PCI Adapter is prepared for the emerging Full Duplex Token-Ring
standards now being finalized to help users protect their network
investment. The adapter adheres to the plug and play PCI specification,
providing automatic adapter configuration for such things as memory, I/O
space, DMA channel and interrupt level.

Pricing and Availability

The Olicom PCI Adapter with PowerPC driver support is available now from
IBM PC Direct as an option on Power Series systems.

Olicom's Token-Ring PCI Adapter is currently shipping with a list price of
US$375. An optional software and documentation kit for all PowerPC
platforms will be available through Olicom distribution channels in the
third quarter.
