QUALCOMM Incorporated Unveils Its New EUDORA Pro Electronic Mail

- Targets worldwide electronic mail consumer market with product
enhancements and worldwide distribution agreements-

San Diego, CA (May 31, 1995) - QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM)
announced today a major thrust to reach consumers worldwide by
significantly updating its award winning Eudora electronic mail software
and signing a major distribution agreement with Ingram Micro, the world's
largest wholesale distributor of microcomputer products. The company's new
product offering for both Macintosh and PC users will include a special
sign-on offer for Internet access with a leading service provider,
built-in spell-checking, TCP/IP networking and communications tools,
redesigned packaging, and a new name.

QUALCOMM's expansion into the consumer market is the first part of the
company's three part global e-mail strategy recently announced at the
E-Mail World trade show. The company's plans are to bring its popular
e-mail software to three market segments - the Internet consumer, general
business and educational customers, and organizations with enterprise-wide
networks - by providing product features and functionality important to
each segment. To further broaden and strengthen its reach into the
consumer marketplace, QUALCOMM will also launch a national marketing
campaign that includes print advertising, computer-oriented radio and TV
talk shows, direct mail, and public relations programs. The company will
showcase a new slogan, everyone-mail, on banners, give-aways and other
promotional items.

Name Change

To help distinguish the commercial version from the popular freeware
version available on the Internet, QUALCOMM first renamed its entire suite
of electronic mail products. The commercial version, formerly called
Eudora by QUALCOMM, is now called Eudora Pro for Macintosh, and Eudora Pro
for Windows. The freeware version, formerly referred to simply as
Eudora, has been renamed Eudora Light for Macintosh, and Eudora Light for
Windows.

Eudora Pro for Macintosh and Windows is electronic mail software that gives
users, including the growing number of businesses and institutions
embracing Internet-style networks, an easy, affordable, and reliable way
to communicate with friends, customers or colleagues anywhere in the
world. Eudora Pro's advanced software feature set saves users time in
composing, managing and replying to their electronic mail. And because the
Eudora Pro software adheres to Internet standards, users can communicate
with anyone on the Internet, regardless of platform or e-mail software.

"Eudora Pro allows Macintosh and PC users to easily tap into the vast
resources of the Internet. It offers one complete e-mail solution,
providing easy Internet access for first-time users as well as
sophisticated features for more advanced users," said Craig Brenner,
national marketing manager for QUALCOMM's Enterprise Software Technologies
group, QUEST.

Eudora Pro Features

With nearly 3 million people worldwide using versions of Eudora, it has
proven itself to be the most popular and reliable way to exchange mail on
the Internet. To provide an all-encompassing solution to the consumer
market, Eudora Pro for Macintosh and Windows features a special Internet
access sign-on offer. The offer includes a 30 day trial and free connect
time, provided by the Portal Information Network, a leading provider of
nationwide interactive network services. Available 24 hours a day, it
automatically connects the user into the provider's network, establishes a
user account and registers the user in only 60 seconds, all free of
charge.

Additionally, QUALCOMM announced that it will integrate a spelling-checker
with the Eudora Pro software for both Macintosh and Windows versions.
Previously, a spelling checker was available separately for the Macintosh
version only. "By bundling the spelling checker with the software,
consumers are actually receiving more product for their money. This
combination gives users the ability to deliver polished documents easily
and accurately, reducing the possibility of miscommunication," said
Brenner.

Also included in the Eudora Pro for Windows package is Frontier
Technologies Corporation's award winning TCP/IP network connectivity
software, SuperTCP Kernel. Frontier's TCP/IP package allows Windows users
to seamlessly connect to remote networks, and directly to the Internet.
Eudora Pro for Macintosh includes MacTCP software from Apple Computer,
Inc., which provides TCP/IP network connectivity, and Hyde Park Software's
MacSLIP software, a SLIP and Point-to-Point (PPP) software connection
providing simple telephone dial-in access to remote computer networks,
including the Internet.

Additional enhancements to the Eudora Pro software package include a quick
start guide and trouble-shooting documentation to enable users to get up
and running quickly and easily.

Distribution

In a separate announcement today, QUALCOMM established a worldwide
agreement with Ingram Micro, a move that expands distribution into
consumer channels including major retail chains and mail order catalogs.

electronic shopping area on the World Wide Web. In addition, Apple
Computer Inc. is bundling the Eudora software in its Apple Education
