SUNSERVICE UNVEILS SUPPORT SERVICES FOR SOLARIS MIGRATION

Microsystems, Inc. today announced an enhanced package of services
designed to help businesses become more competitive by upgrading their
enterprise computing systems. These support services will aid the Sun
customers wanting the quality, high performance and multi-architecture
support available in Solaris 2.4. Support services include assessment and
evaluation of the customer's environment, migration planning, application
testing, application porting, training, software and hardware installation
services.

Services

The SunService Solaris migration support services cover all aspects of the
transition to the Solaris 2.4 environment. For convenience, following is a
grouping of the six services:

* Feasibility assessment and evaluation--SunService captures the details of
the customer's computing environment and analyzes the requirements for
hardware and software upgrade installation.

* Planning--This service includes the preparation of a customized migration
plan, with a risk and skills analysis, application testing and acceptance
criteria, and installation and training plans.

*Compatibility testing--SunService experts test the customer's custom
applications for compliance with the Solaris 2.4 environment prior to
porting.

* Application porting--Application source code is ported to the Solaris 2.4
environment and optimized to take advantage of Solaris 2.4 features.

* Solaris 2.4.x installation--Solaris 2.4 and unbundled software are
installed via customized JumpStart(TM) with appropriate hardware upgrades
also available.

* Training--SunService offers skills assessment and courses to ensure
proper management of 2.4 environment by the customer.
