Software Architects Releases File Interchange Utility

Announcing Here & Now - Opening Windows to Macintosh Files

BOTHELL, WA June 12, 1995--Software Architects, Inc., a worldwide supplier
of storage management software, today announced a file interchange utility
enabling PC users to read, write and transfer Macintosh files as if they
were native Windows or DOS files.

With this new product, called Here & Now, Software Architects provides
general business and other mixed computing environment users a seamless
way to access and interchange their files. In addition to high-density
floppies, Here & Now supports Bernoulli, SyQuest, hard drives and optical
media including magneto-optical, phase-change and the newly released PD
media.

"Here & Now was designed around two essential user benefits - ease of use
and reliability," said Robert Zollo, president of Software Architects.
"Current trends in the PC market, including the increasing number of mixed
PC and Macintosh office environments, emphasized the need for better ways
to interchange files between environments. For such operations, Here & Now
is the ideal solution."

Complete cross-platform accessibility...Here & Now

Taking its cue from DOS Mounter 5.0, Software Architects' highly respected
Macintosh-based file interchange utility, Here & Now provides users with
file extension mapping built-in. Rather than cumbersome searches to match
foreign files with native application types, Here & Now automatically
establishes the link from predetermined Macintosh file extensions to the
appropriate DOS or Windows applications. Here & Now comes with default
links supporting many of the leading PC and Macintosh applications,
including Word, PageMaker, Excel and Lotus 1-2-3. Users can personally
customize Here & Now to support up to 200 separate extensions. PC users
access and work on Macintosh files as easily as they would native PC
files.

Transparent file access...Here & Now

When users insert a Macintosh floppy disk into their 3.5" drive, Here & Now
instantly performs the necessary steps to make it appear as a DOS volume.
The diskette will show up as the A: or B: drive, virtually
indistinguishable from a DOS disk.

Using the File Manager format, Here & Now lets users view files in whatever
format best suits them. The Macintosh file names can be viewed in their
full 31-character nomenclature or in a truncated 8.3 DOS format.

Opening Windows to Macintosh files...Here & Now

Here & Now recognizes that Mac files differ from PC files. While PC files
have one data stream, Mac files can have two: a "data fork" and a
"resource fork". Here & Now delivers full and transparent access to both
Macintosh data streams ensuring complete file integrity.

Realizing that data transfer is rarely one way, Here & Now also allows
users to format high-density floppies in a Macintosh format directly from
their PCs.

Special Pricing

Here & Now will begin shipping worldwide July 7, 1995 for a suggested
retail price of $89.95 (U.S.). Through July 21, 1995, Here & Now will be
available for a special introductory price of $39.95 (U.S.). Users
interested in taking advantage of this limited offer should contact
Software Architects directly at 206/487-0122.
