TELEBIT SETS NEW STANDARDS IN REMOTE NETWORK ACCESS SYSTEMS

NETBLAZER 3.0 DELIVERS INDUSTRY'S MOST COMPREHENSIVE SOLUTION FOR
LAN-TO-LAN AND CLIENT-TO-LAN REMOTE ACCESS ENVIRONMENTS

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- May 22, 1995 -- Telebit Corp. today announced it is
now shipping a major new version of software for its NetBlazer remote
network access systems, setting new performance and ease-of-use standards.
NetBlazer 3.0 provides LAN-to-LAN and client-to-LAN environments with
unparalleled support for high-speed services such as Integrated Services
Digital Network (ISDN) and frame relay. It also brings enhanced remote
network access capabilities to Apple Macintosh clients, complementing
NetBlazer's support for TCP/IP, NetWare IPX and Windows clients.

NetBlazer 3.0 provides NetBlazer remote network access systems with the
industry's only multiple-protocol support for ISDN, frame relay, T1/E1,
Switched 56 and standard analog access, delivering unprecedented
flexibility to LAN-to- LAN environments. It also supports Apple Remote
Access (ARA) 2.0 and AppleTalk over Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) for
client-to-LAN environments; and provides several new features that enhance
bandwidth, ease of use and security in remote network access systems.

NetBlazer 3.0 is shipping now with all Telebit NetBlazer remote network
access systems and available as an upgrade to the NetBlazer installed
base. Its ISDN features are designed to maximize the performance and
interoperability of Telebit's new NetBlazer LS ISDN branch-site router and
NI2B ISDN add-in cards for Telebit's NetBlazer 40 and NetBlazer ST
regional- and central-site routers.

"Corporate and small-business networks have evolved to where resources
typically are distributed over several sites and, therefore, prone to slow
data communications, difficulty in use, and security risks," said Joe
Hielscher, director of product marketing at Telebit. "Because of these
limitations, networks and their remote users require a broad range of
services, performance and security. With NetBlazer 3.0, Telebit is
delivering high-speed data transmission through robust services like ISDN,
high bandwidth and security, all in an easy-to-use package."

Takes Advantage of High-Speed Services

NetBlazer 3.0 enables network managers to expand the performance and range
of TCP/IP, IPX and AppleTalk networks with high-speed services. Those
networks can use NetBlazer 3.0 to take advantage of ISDN, frame relay,
T1/E1 and Switched 56 services, in addition to or instead of standard
analog dial-up lines.

Key New Features

* NetBlazer 3.0 delivers several new features that enhance speed,
ease of use and security LAN-to-LAN and client-to-LAN remote
  network access environments:
* Support for ISDN, enabling high-speed data on the NetBlazer LS ISDN,
the NI2B and third-party ISDN modems
* Frame relay support, providing bandwidth on demand and an
alternative to costly leased lines and slower X.25 networks
* Increased performance through data compression, bandwidth management
  and interface balancing
* Enhanced ease of use with a new set-up utility, online documentation
and support, and software updates via dial-up and ISDN lines
* Improved security through dial-back, filtering and password
  authentication protocol/challenge handshake authentication protocol
(PAP/CHAP), the most advanced security type for remote network
  access systems
* ARA support for up to 32 users and enabling SecurID and PAP/CHAP
  security for AppleTalk users
* Enhanced integration with modems, providing the ability for Telebit
FastBlazer modems to download microcode into their flash ROMs

Client-to-LAN Access

To give telecommuters and nomadic users access to central-site and
branch-office network resources, NetBlazer 3.0 provides dial-in
client-to-LAN access for DOS, Windows and Macintosh clients. Using SLIP or
PPP, remote users can tap into network resources with their desktop and
portable computers. Additionally, NetBlazer 3.0 provides remote-access
capabilities to users of Intercon's InterPPP software.
