Adobe Magazine Launches 1995 Design Contest

Prizes Include $10,000, Hardware and Software; Winning Entries to be
Showcased in December Issue

Seattle, WA., (July 18, 1995) (Nasdaq: ADBE) -- Adobe Magazine, a leading
graphic-design and publishing magazine published by Adobe Systems
Incorporated, is now accepting entries for its 1995 Design Contest. The
contest, now in its fifth year, draws work from top graphic designers
worldwide.

Winning entries will be showcased in the magazines special Design Contest
issue, published in December 1995. To qualify for the contest, submissions
must have been principally created using Adobe software, which includes
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe PageMaker, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere and
Adobe Persuasion.

The 1995 Adobe Magazine Design Contest is cosponsored by Adobe, Agfa,
Fantazia Concepts, 3M, and Wacom Technologies. The "Best of Show" prize
consists of $7,500 and prizes worth more than $20,000, including the 3M
Rainbow Brand Color Proofing System; 50 Fantazia Concepts clip-art; an
Agfa StudioScan II flatbed scanner; and a Wacom ArtZ Graphics Tablet.

"Our yearly design contest is an exciting event for us," said Nicholas H.
Allison, editor-in-chief of Adobe Magazine. "It gives us the opportunity
to see the best work being created by our readers - designers and artists
using Adobe software productsand to feature a lot of very innovative work
to the design community worldwide."

The Runner Up entry receives $2,500 in cash. In addition, the winner in
each of the contests 28 categories receives his or her choice of any Adobe
software product retailing at up to $895, including Adobe PageMaker, Adobe
Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere, and Adobe Acrobat. The
winners and runners-up in each category also benefit from invaluable
exposure to the design community. Adobe Magazines circulation of more than
300,000 copies - each of which is read by an average of two people - means
that the December issue will be read by more than 600,000 people.

The entry fee for the 1995 Adobe Magazine Design Contest is $25 per entry,
with a submission deadline of August 11, 1995. The contests official Call
for Entries, which contains details and an entry form, was published in
the May/June and July/August issues of Adobe Magazine, and can also be

Judges for the 1995 Adobe Magazine Design Contest include three
distinguished designers: Laurie Haycock Makela, design director of the
Walker Art Center in Minneapolis; Art Chantry of Seattle, whose posters
and other design work have won international acclaim; and Luanne Seymour
Cohen, applications design director at Adobe Systems.

Adobe Magazine (formerly Aldus Magazine) is published seven times a year
and is distributed on request to registered owners of Adobe software. It
is also available on selected newsstands throughout the U.S. and Canada
for a cover price of $5.00.
